  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Folks,

Seriously contemplating leasing a new 2017 base G80 HTRAC. I know there are no significant differences between the two cars, but those of you who have owned/leased both, are there any subtle differences to note...ie...ride/drive/quietness, etc? Unfortunately, I live some 3 hrs from nearest dealer, thus I haven't had an opportunity to drive a 2017. Thanks for any info you might post!!

There is another thread that listed the differences. Mostly cosmetic. I've had both 2015 and now 2018. As for ride, close your eyes and you'd not tell them apart. Minor changes in gauge appearance, speaker grilles. Steering wheel controls are the same.

At this stage of the model year I'd expect a great deal on a 2017. If you like what you have, you won't be disappointed in the new one.

Thanks! Yes, it's a really decent lease deal, and I do like my 2015. I know the base 2017 has quite a bit of standard equipment that wasn't available on the base 2015, so I probably should just go for it! :D

There is more of a difference between 2017 and 2018, than there is between 2015 and 2017. But you are correct that starting with the 2017 Genesis Motors G80, many of the autonomous driving safety features (like automatic stop) are now standard on the Base Trim level, whereas they were only in one of the option packages on the Hyundai Genesis 2015-2016. The price of the 2017 Base Trim model jumped several thousands dollars because of that.
