  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
I just recently purchased a used 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan 5.0 Ultimate, and I noticed that the front brake caliper has Brembo on them but the rears are just badly painted red small rears... I did some searching to see if I could find out that the car ever came with Brembos from factory, but didnt really have any luck. Just finding feeds of coupe Brembo swaps on different years and models of the sedans. I am just trying to do the research ahead of time for when it comes time for me to need to get pads or rotors that I am able to get the right ones incase they are swapped or what not. Sorry for maybe a newb question, but new to this platform and just trying to learn more about it. Thanks.

Why not post some pictures of them?

The 2015 Genesis Ultimate definitely did not come with Brembos from the factory, in any model. Make sure the "Brembo" isn't just a sticker; I know of at least one person who did that.

I can when I get the car back from getting paint correction and ceramic coating done. But I have done some more digging and it doesnt come with Brembos factory... someone might have put stickers on and repainted the stocks or coupe swapped Brembos on the car... I am hoping it is the first option, since the sedan brakes are still better than coupe Brembos.... Will take a closer look when I get the car back though.

The 2015 5.0 do not have Brembo brakes as stock. The 2015 5.0 come with silver painted 14in front and 13.6in rear Mando brakes. However, the front brakes are very similar to the front Brembo brakes used in the Genesis coup; even has the same pin/bracket-type sport brake pad system.

It sounds like someone did a coup brake swap or imitated one with paint and logos on your ride.

Pics please.

Upon more inspection, they are painted sedan brakes on the car, not coupe Brembo brake put on thankfully. Closer look the brakes have stickers on them and were painted to look like that. Going to be fixing that later on and getting them properly powdercoated down the road with custom color.

Hey man, hope everything worked out with the brakes after all. Quick question, how much did it cost for the paint correction?

Mine as well. Painted is checked area in a few areas by the trunk. Interested in the price for the color correction.
