  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It's not easy to drive a prototype-level version of the upcoming, second-generation Hyundai Genesis sedan.

Three hours in airports; fourteen hours in a plane; two hours riding in a car from a Iuncheon to my hotel in the now-famous Gangnam district of downtown Seoul; another two hours-plus on a bus from Seoul out to the Hyundai nerve center in Namyang. And that's just the travel.

Finally settled into a massive presentation room deep in the heart of the Namyang R&D center, freshly denuded of all of my camera gear and fortified with abundant coffee and green tea cookies, I still faced hours of product presentation; question and answer sessions with a large team of engineers, designers and executives; an official unveiling under the soaring dome of the Design Hall; a strolling lunch and more coffee. And then, finally, a shuttle ride to the proving grounds around which the whole facility hums with enterprise for an all-too-brief stint behind the wheel of a car that, by this point, I'm basically slavering to get my hands on.

Say this for the South Koreans: they know how to build suspense.Continue reading 2015 Hyundai Genesis

Personally, the thing I like least about the BH Genesis are the seats. The DH seats have the thigh extension for taller people like BMW seats. This makes a world of difference.
Most car reviews kind of glance over the seats in a one line sentence, but they are one of the most important parts of any car.

^+1

My dad's Azera has the thigh extension - It's time for the Genesis to "catch up" in certain ways....

If you're gonna copy BMW, start with the seats. This is from a 2011 535i

I love the look of the new interior. Now that we are seeing actual pictures of the car, I'm likeing it. May have to move up. ;)

I agree and I didn't realize that they would be using real wood in the interior.

Still no sign anywhere of an all-leather dash. Real wood can reflect just as much nasty glare into your eyes as plastic wood.

Good to see TJPark back posting after a long absence.

The seats appear to have much better side bolsters than the current seats, along with the cushion extensions. I hope the lumbar support is as good or better than the current seats and that they include the lumbar adjustment in the passenger seat. I too like the looks of the new interior, but will hold out judgement on the exterior looks until I see it "live" and not just in pictures.

You can see the round switch for the lumbar support adjuster in the first interior pic, looks just like the one in my R Spec. ;)

Good to be seen!

Does't look like the lumbar support or thigh extension made it's way to the passenger seat. I guess they save those amenities for the Equus.

Man those seats really are gorgeous. I can't comment on their comfort as I really haven't found the seats in my Genny to be uncomfortable.

I've never had a problem with glare from the artificial wood, but then again my windows are tinted

My interest is slowly peaking. I'm not sure whether I like either the front end or the back end of the car too much, but I'm sure seeing it in person will make a big difference. Except for the placement of the hazard lights button, the interior doesn't look too bad.

I also like the inbside. Grill still looks like a Chrysler 200! I could get use to it, but the lisc. plate
position has to go lower, not in the grill, and the reflective piece behind the grill, I hope they do something about that also.

Ugh what is up with that gap between the front bumper and the hood? Someone else pointed it out in another thread, and now I can't stop noticing it!

Here is the best source I've found so far, the PDF marketing material for the 2015 Genesis in Korea. It shows the pricing and features in each option package in the Korean market.
