  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 lease returns coming up soon

Only negative is that I didn't get weather mats which I showed my distaste to the salesman.

Normally weather mats are an option. Like anything else, options are negotiable. Was it part of the deal?

Not only that, they are dealer or importer (HMA) installed options, not from the factory in Korea.

I'm talking about the factory carpet mats that all cars with, not weather techs or rubber mats. Sorry for the confusion. I should've took them out of another Genesis on the lot..

OK, gotcha. You can buy them but they list at $160 a set. Ask them to sell you a set for $40 to make things right.

just got that piece of mail myself, my 3 year 30k lease is up mid May and i have not decided what i want to do yet....'15 5.0 with 9500 miles that has been driven in rain 3 times. absolutely love this car but just dont drive it enough, ive begun to done some research on comparable cars all over the country and have found that i probably have one of the nicest, lowest milage, white 5.0 cars in the country but for the life of me cant decide if i should buy it it for 28k or turn it in and let some dealer make 10k off the system...almost want to buy it and sell it myself....input?

Yeah, it is probably one of the best deals around. As an uninvolved outsider I see two different scenarios. The sensible, practical approach would be to buy it, drive it for three or four more years. Given the miles, maybe 10 more years. The emotional, car guy side says, it would be nice to get something new and different just because you want one. If you do buy it, you can then decide to keep or sell at any time.

I 'm not sure what i'm gonna do either as my lease is up end of May. i like my '15 genesis, but pretty sure i don't wanna purchase it. If the G70s were out, i'd give that a serious look. The G80 is an option but that'd be like living the last 3 years over again! :-) the G90 is too expensive for my blood. plus, i'll never get a killer deal on a G80 like i did my Genny!

I liked my 2015 so much that I bought a 2018. Different color. There are some differences, but relatively minor. There were listed in another thread a few days ago. Hopefully, by May the G70 will be available, at least in the showroom so you can decide. If you have to wait a month or so to get the particular model you want, I wonder if they would give you extra turn in time for a nominal cost? We had that option with company cars in the past.

The question is how did you do on your allowed miles on your lease?

Have you considered the Stinger? Same price (depending on trim level) and more sporty if that's your thing. I considered it heavily but the Genesis took over with its more luxurious side.

i'll be under the 30k miles limit, likely around 28k when i turn her in. car is in excellent condition inside and out.

yeah, the stinger is an option, just haven't had a chance to check one out as nearest dealer is 3 hrs away.

i bought mine , it was a lease return 2015 ult with 26k miles for OTD 27k

Was that the stated price on your lease residual? Or, were you able to negotiate down?

I drove a GT AWD. Honestly, you aren't getting your money's worth unless you buy the 2.0 Premium, GT1 or GT2 trim levels. The one I drove didn't have much to it at all. Heated seats, XM radio, back-up camera, bluetooth, and that's pretty much it for $44k. The '15 Sonata Limited I bought in 2016 had all of those options, minus the 3.3TT, for $26k. I don't think a sister company car's powertrain is worth 18 grand... Fully loaded GT2s on the other hand, one can be had for under $50k.

how would you compare the ride/drive of the stinger as compared to your Genny?
