  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

just picked up my 2015 5.0 on Saturday and have a few questions.

1. Car did not come with maps SD card. If I order from MapNsoft WITH SD card, will this work? Or is it more complicated than that? (VIN check.. blah)

2. Will the update from MapNsoft come with the Android Auto update or will I need to download that separately?

3. I'm trying to register on MyHyundai (for the Android Auto update), and when I input my VIN/info I get this message:
Enrollment in Hyundai Assurance Connected Care powered by Blue Link must be completed at your Hyundai dealer.
Please visit your dealership for enrollment assistance.
Do I really have to go to a dealership for this??

Thanks! Any tips about the car are appreciated.

You can buy it directly and it's not cheap. It's easy to load too. Make sure you buy the SD card that matches your radio (DIS or no DIS). I don't know much about Android, but it sounds like you'll need a Blue Link subscription and that's more money.

I would call Mapnsoft support and ask them these questions. Mapnsoft would be a "primary" source. Anything said in this forum would be a "secondary" source, or hearsay.

Yes, I did call this morning but was mostly concerned with getting a clueless rep who would just say yes to everything to get me to buy. Anyways, the rep seemed knowledgeable (as much as can be discerned over the phone). I should be good to go if I order the SD card from them and it does include the Android Auto update.

Call Hyundai and the unhelpful rep said I will need to go to a dealership to get registered... seems ridiculous but oh well.

Registered for Blue Link, or to use Android Auto?

Registered as in just accept that I own the car according to myHyundai website -- which then would presumably allow me to download the Android Auto update from the myHyundai website. Since I didn't purchase the car from a Hyundai dealer, I'm assuming that is the complication.

Let me check tomorrow and see if I still have my old SD card. Do you have an Ultimate? You can tell by whether you have the dial knob on the center console.

That may be the issue. I did buy from a Hyundai dealer. When I tried to register, I couldn't, because the car was already registered. I was able to call, and the salesman that sold me the car did it in minutes from his desk. However, because yours was not purchased from a dealer, they may need to see something that verifies you actually own the car. Before driving down there, ask them what they might require you to bring.

And oh yea, tell us about your new car. Maybe a pic as well.

thanks for the offer, but I do not have an Ultimate. I ordered from MapNsoft. Between that and ordering the second key/key fob from the dealer, I'm out quite a bit of money...

Oh, and I picked up a 2015 Genesis 5.0 (base), with ~250 miles on it this past Saturday. The car was a "fleet" vehicle, but apparently not used much since 12/15 when it was first titled. So far I love it and hope it lasts me a long time.

Pog,

Just curious, I see your in Austin, did you find your car up around Dallas, maybe Carrollton?

Yes, looks like we bought cars with similar backgrounds. I've never heard of that dealership before, but I'm very impressed with how they do business. Shopping for a used car is painful as its impossible to find all the details about the cars, even when buying CPO. Definitely worth the drive from Austin for the great deal on an awesome car. Hopefully not having the CPO powertrain benefits won't be an issue for me.
