  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

the tan colored perforated seat cushion on the drivers side is starting to show wear and will eventually become a hole. Anyone else experiencing this as well? Any thoughts on stopping this before it does turn into a hole? Repair thoughts? Thanks!

I will look next time I take the car out. Can you shoot a pic of it? How many miles?

I've noticed on a lot of my previous cars that it pays to be attentive on how you're actually getting in / out of your car... Things like hitting the bolster with your wallet pocket & etc. can really accelerate wear.

and denim/jeans will do a lot of damage as well, it doesn't easily slide over the leather, so it will scuff and tear

My 2015 ultimate driver seat split a seam between the bolster and bottom cushion and the bottom cushion was replaced under warranty. Otherwise very happy with the black perforated leather and seats.

It sure does, skip. Rather funny what this car makes me do, as I'm oddly careful and cognizant of how I'm getting in and out of her, versus my prior Audi where the leather was cracking and starting to fray and really wasn't paying attention anymore nor did I care. I seem to be treating my Genny with much more civility than many of my other previous high-line vehicles. Not sure if it's my age or something about this car lol...

How true you are Whitey! This is the first Luxury Sedan I ever owned. I had a 87 Lincoln mark 7 which was nice in its day,but it was no Genesis. I think the age thing has something to do with it. Although I am anal about all my vehicles except my every day beater . But I still take care of it mechanically. How would you rate the Genesis compared to the Audi?

It has 70,000 miles on it.
Ok I did check out my seat and seems to be in good shape ,nothing happening like in your pics. Like skipgen said ,I try to conciousness on how I enter and exit the vehicle. I dont slide in and out, I also wear pants that are soft unlike blue jeans.
And I also try and wear light colored clothes when I do drive the car. I only drive it a couple times a month.
