  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

EDIT: I just realized this post is in the wrong section. Can we move this?

Hello everyone. The seat cushion heating element in my drivers seat has ceased to work. Well, it works for about 30s to 1 minute then I get the lights blinking on the switch and ultimately stops working until the car is restarted. I had my car in for warranty work back in March 2022. The parts I was told were back ordered and I'd be given a call when they were in. I live in the south and it doesn't get real cold where heated seats are used and this, honestly, was more of a "it doesn't work and should so I'm going to fix it" thing. Fast forward a month ago, October, I started calling down to the dealership looking for an update. Finally got someone on the line only to have them tell me the parts came in sometime in April. Awesome. He goes to check for them and they're nowhere to be found.
The parts that were ordered were the cushion cover and the cushion assembly. I'm trying to make heads or tails here, is the cushion assembly even necessary? There was a post made where someone performed a DYI to fix their seat and it looked as if the heating element was in the seat cushion. I supposed I could resurrect that thread but figured I post a new one.
So, Does anyone know if the cushion assembly is necessary?
Many thanks!

An automotive upholstery shop is probably your best bet. They deal with these things all the time and probably can source the parts. On the 1st gen, the seat cushion cover is held on with hog rings. Pretty sure you cannot get 'em all off without pulling the seat.

For a Service Manager on an incentive (and they all are), it's a matter of what's easiest for them vs book labor and if it costs you more, good. You can also just source parts from them or any of the online websites.
