If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all,

Question, I've been looking at a 2016 GENESIS with 34947 miles with all the bells and whistles except for the V8 engine. They are asking $34500 for it but I've researched that the KBB has the Fair Market Range at $28,968 - $32,023, with CPO considerably high and their offer of $33901, $1305 more still :negative:. I first submitted $30,000 with 2 vehicles for trade-in which I valued at $ 7000 KBB value, but I know I could more as a down payment. What are you guys thoughts on this? Think they're trying to play hard ball or should I ease up a bit? I know the depreciation value of these vehicles are the worst which reports have suggested, so I'm just trying to get the best deal without paying too much. thanks for your 2 cents;)

There's no mention of the vehicles you offered to trade, their value, color or desirability.
The dealer may or may not want your trades or if they're not what they want will go immediately to the dealer auction where prices are always low.
Any time you deal with trades and financing you are basically trapped with whatever the dealer offers or walk away.
Dealers also usually have an incentive of as much as $500 to steer you to their finance people either in house or working with.
Your best deal would be to sell the trade vehicles and deal with the dealer straight up no trades.

I would get the other ones for sale with less than a 1000 miles, plus they're certified. I think the $5k price difference is well worth it and the car will be almost new. In a years time, your Jim Ellis Genesis will have almost 50k miles vs less than 15k miles on the newer car.

I think you can do better. There are plenty of 2015 V8's out there. You definitely should get $30k CPO for a 35000mile car.

Got a 2016 14k CPO for 27k out the door, however, it's a base trim model 3.8 rwd

which is what I was looking for, no sunroof, android auto, don't need all that lane keep, adaptive cc, awd, Just need a nice car to drive around (less gadgets less problems I always say) :)

Felt like a steal when it was sitting next to a 2016 Honda accord sport that was 30k lmao

That page is kind of confusing: it says "Simulated wood/metal-look dash trim" and then at the bottom states that it is an Ultimate package. The Ultimate package has real wood and aluminum on the dash.

It also doesn't mention smart CC, HUD, or LKA or any of the other tech toys that the Ultimate includes.

Methinks somebody made a mistake in advertising.

Isn't price like $54,000 for that instead of the $39,000? I've seen some 2016's with 20 something thousand miles with all for low $30,000 ands that's the ball park im trying to be in.

Well, I'm still searching Cargurus and Edmounds websites. Anyone know of any other websites or dealerships I can search?

Ultimate's list for $53-54K and sell for about $39-41k with low mileage as NEW. You may be able to get it for a little less as a CPO. But if your trying to stay in the low 30's your going to need to look at the lower trim packages or risk something with high mileage from a non Hyundai dealer. Are you looking for one fully loaded or just a base model?

**A quick search found a few 2015 ultimate's in the southern states for the low 30's with around 30,000 miles on them. A few certified as well. Seems like they have more available and for less money than they do up here.

RyanB,

Thanks for the replies and input, but you are right and I have done a search and found that a well equipped 2015 can be had for the low with low mileage. Currently bought to jump on one this weekend, hopefully I'll be a new Genny owner and will post pics!

The one listed by Bedford Hyundai is being used by the owner and isn't available as per the salesman I talked to. For that price, if you could find a trustworthy MI straw buyer, you could score a brand new 2017 G80 AWD Ultimate for $42.67K

Looking at a 2016 AWD Ultimate with 1.5K on the odo for $38.1K. This is the price out of the door without tax, title, emissions, etc, which I plan to take care of, but inclusive of all dealer fees and temporary tags. What do you guys think? Fair price or good deal?

I think it's a great deal. If it's not titled, you get the new car warranty on the drive train. It's stickered at 53k and is nicer than most new cars at $38k. The HUD is amazing. I say go for it!

Bought my 2015 Genesis Awd Ultimate a year ago with 4k miles for $39k ,Hyundai.com has a certified pre-owned option on their site that shows inventory for the whole US. I live in Ny ,drove almost three hours to get my car from Mirak Hyundai in Arlington Mass. While driving there a dealer from Atl called me and offered to ship a car i enquired about for free.If your"e not in a rush you can get great deals.

Yep, heading to Atlanta this weekend, hopefully riding back in a 2015 ultimate Genesis, crossing fingers.
