  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm new to the forum, I posted the following yesterday but am unsure if I posted it in the right location of the forum. My wife was driving the car she claimed that the seat belt alarm wouldn't stop even though the seat belt was connected. The directionals no longer work, the courtesy dash panel doesn't work when she opens the door. The 4-way flashers and brake lights and trunk button doesn't work, etc. There may be other accessories that also don't work. I couldn't locate the fuse for the directionals although it may be more than just a fuse. I'm not a mechanic and would appreciate some advice as to diagnose and repair.

Follow up, the seat belt alarm is not sounding. The directionals don't work, the courtesy lights aren't working, the trunk lid doesn't open, and the telescopic steering wheel doesn't work. There may be other accessories that I'm not aware of also not working. The manual wasn't that clear as to identifying the fuses so I checked all the fuses under the dash in the engine compartment and in the trunk and all of the fuses are good. Any advice would be appreciated.

Does the car sit for long periods of time? Could a critter have gotten into your wiring?

Wow. Hoping it isn't the Body Control Module. Please say you have a warranty.

Thank you for your response. My wife uses it regularly but could very well be a mouse problem. Leaving now on a cruise will have ro continue diagnostic when I get back, thanks again.

It hasn't been a good month, first the issue with the car, and then my wife and I came down with Covid from the cruise. Upon being able to work on the car again, which drove me crazy. What didn't make sense was that the accessories that weren't working were on separate fuses and as noted the fuses and modules weren't identified that well so I checked all of them under the dash, under the hood, and in the trunk all were good. Believe it or not, it turned out to be a weak car battery, I replaced the battery today and everything is back to normal and working fine. You would think that a weak battery would be unable to start the car and or work accessories that drew a lot of power, and not smaller accessories like courtesy lights directionals etc. I still find it hard to believe but that god all is well.

Good to hear that you are better. I'm also glad that you were able to resolve the problem. I too would have guessed it was something more complicated than the battery.
