2018 G80 valves clicking at startup

What causes my 2018 G80's motor to click when I startup? It goes away in a couple of minutes, never to return until the next morning. Thanks.

Which engine do you have? Below is true for the 3.8 and the 5.0.
More detail is needed. Is this really valve train noise, or is it the GDI injectors. I think that nine times out of ten it is going to be the GDI injectors, and that's just the way they are. Was your previous car GDI, or was it port injected? If it's really valve train, then the first question is what oil and what filter are you using and how often do you change them?
If you have the 3.3, then it does have some startup valve train noise. It seems like too much oil drains from the top of the engine, and it take too long to pump enough back up there. That said, many say that it doesn't lead to failure.

Thank you for your comment. I bought the G80 at 47k miles. It how has 70k. It is a 3.8. All I know is there has alway a tap for the first few minutes. It has not increased in volume or sound. The synthetic oil and filter meets the specifications recommended by Genesis and is changed every 6,000 miles. I couldn't find the comment but years ago someone said on the forum said it could be serious. So I want to check it out if necessary before my Route 66 "Easy Street", their best extended warranty is good for 120,000 miles max 2030.
 
Marvel Mystery Oil solved the problem for a 2019 G80 with 19,000 miles. Without a doubt, the stupidest solution - a hundred year old product invented for a Model-A Ford. This problem should never exist in a modern car with less than 100,000 miles.
 
Most all VVT engines do this for the first 10-20 seconds at first start. I had my 2015 3.8 AWD for almost 120k and had no issues as a result of it. It made the noise from the first miles I had it to the last - and from what I can see in carfax - it is still going strong (traded away about 3 years ago).

Haha, true, but it does seem to work. I had a Toyota Tundra whose previous owner must not have changed the oil very often. I think it only had about 60k miles. Despite my frequent oil and filter changes with high quality oil, it developed an annoying lifter tap. In my case it didn't go away after startup. I finally decided to try putting in a small bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil and the tap went away immediately and didn't return.
