  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dealer replaced shot steering rack at 27k after waiting for a back ordered one for 3 months. Local, fabulous mechanic replaced shot front and rear rotors and pads at 31k. Dead starter replaced at 38k. Now I’m told I must replace the shot strut mount bearings at 40k. (Parts are back ordered for who knows how long). All issues have occurred outside of the five year warranty coverage. Vehicle regularly serviced according to Genesis specs. That’s over Cdn $12,000 in the past 2 years. Is my car a lemon or are they all like this? I love the looks and comfort of the car and it goes like stink when necessary, but it’s only done 40k and has been so expensive. Not to mention all parts have been backordered and have required extended waiting periods. Is it time to leave Genesis and trade it in?

The unavailability of parts should be concerning to all of us owners.

And, I have no idea what your personal situation is, but it sounds like it’s time to move on from that particular vehicle.

I had a 1987 Nissan Maxima that had all sorts of problems. I moved on from it and didn’t buy another Nissan for 20 years.

Damn, did you buy it used? Sounds like it's been driven very hard. No way should rotors be shot at 30k miles, pads aren't great so that's understandable there.

Yeah, sounded like that one had a rough life.

Sounds like it’s time to sell. Parts availability being this bad for such a new car is a really bad sign.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Look at how few parts are listed, and how many are discontinued.
