  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello!
Which cold air intake brand have you installed on your 3.3 T g70? How’s the noise from the engine?

So I just installed Johnny Tig intakes on my 2022 G70. If you haven't found them in most searches it's because they are from a company in Australia and they were originally designed for the stinger. Basically ordered them for my stinger that died and figured I could easily put them on the G70. Long story short they fit but definitely needed some manipulation as there are just enough differences in the engine bays of the 2 cars.
But to your original question, I love the engine noise from having an open intake system. Definitely hear the engine sucking in air and even get the blow off sound from the tubes meant to recycle the air in the stock system. If the Takeda Momentum were an option when I was looking I might have gone with those. Curious if anyone has installed those yet.

I have the Takeda intakes. They are quiet for the most part. There's a little more noise under WOT but it's not loud at all. 6099E5B8-CE24-49FD-A6A8-A46E0B986962.webp

Yeah I figured they'd be a little more on the quiet side since they seem like a closed system. I just think the look pretty clean compared to most the options or there. Something else I forgot to mention on my original post was that I would definitely look at getting the Velossa Tech snorkels as the stock airflow seems a bit weird when you pull the number off. I just ordered mine to add to my system. Also below are the pics of my system since I should have posted them earlier.16644923646911670960755661968817.webp16644924203248500952538830764843.webp

There are only really two "Cold Air Intakes" - Stock and Takeda.

I run stock but with VT Snorkels and AEM filters. I would love to dyno compare vs. the cone style or event the Takeda. I think stock opened up is pretty good if all you're looking for is extra performance. Sound wise, no difference.

Agreed. The Takeda is a a true cold air intake unless one removes the rubber plug on each side. Removing the rubber plugs also allows for a bit more "noise". 81970D51-C863-4290-8472-8B5AAB17E97F.webp

I started with aem, ended up with Injen, its complicated, I like the injen setup better, sounds great, power seems smoother..
