2019 G70 needs new rack. What?

2019 G70 3.3 T. 5 months out of warranty but only 27,000 km. Regular maintenance (included with purchase for 5 years) at the dealer. Harder to steer than before power steering was invented. Dealer says I need a new rack. Parts, labour, tax, about $5,000! Rack is back ordered at least 10 days. Google says that there was a manufacturing problem with racks, but related to the 2020 models. Courtesy car not included! I’m looking for suggestions on how to convince the dealer to pay for most of the cost and to cover the loaner for the time it takes. If you can point me towards any other articles/write ups about this issue I’d greatly appreciate it.

Similar situation with my 2018 G80. Rather than spend a bunch of money to repair, I traded it in for a new car. Now I have a new warranty also.

2023 Sonata Limited. Has most every feature my G80 had. HUD, SCC, heated steering wheel, surround view, etc. No, it is not a G80 but this time around I just could not justify the 30K difference.

I was thinking about that but the car’s not driveable as it is now.
