  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all,

I had my G80 delivered a few weeks ago and am loving it. It is not only the nicest car I've ever owned, but also the first new car I've ever purchased.

In the past, I purchased a Honda CBR600RR (sport motorcycle if anyone is unaware) new, and had to have it maintenance at 500 miles (this was routine).

My question is if my G80 will need something similar? I noticed it says my first service appointment is 3,000 miles. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Thank you all for your insight.

3000 miles.....basically Oil change and lube!

Cars have not needed a 500 mile service since the 1950s. Just take it easy for the first 600 or so for break in and service by the manual.

Good choice for a first new car. Enjoy it.

The 3.3T service interval is every 6,000 miles under normal usage, even for the first service.

Newb question: is there an Oil life meter in the EVIC to see how much life left oil has, and if there is, does it notify when oil change is due around 15% or so? For a G70 or G80.

You can set the service interval my miles and it will remind you. No sophisticated oil meters though.
