In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I ordered a 2020 G70 ELITE Santiago Silver and I was stressed about the color especially buying it sight unseen. When the car came in to be honest it just wasn't for me. I found the standard chrome and silver washed each other out and the car needs dark accents like the 3.3 Turbo Sport Edition. Spenser at Country Hills Blvd in Calgary was a real professional about it, and I now have a 2020 Prestige Himalayan Grey on order. Color is personal preference and I'm not saying it's bad to each his own and I love the color with the sport trim. I did notice the RIMS have changed color on the 2020's vs the 2019's, and they're not gun metal anymore at least on the 2020 ELITE Santiago Silver. I've attached pictures to show the difference between the 2019 & 2020 models, and I hope this helps if anyone is thinking of buying the Santiago Silver ELITE.

I am liking the new color wheels though... they would look good on my MB with chrome accents.

Anyone know if the gunmetal (darker rims) can be powder coated to be silver? Also like the new ones better.

No reason why they can't be. Just be sure to pick a reputable shop that does a lot of wheels. Temperature matters with aluminum wheels.

Short of that, a good paint job can work just as well.

^Case in point, the OEM 5 spoke Sport rims are a painted finish. For those that didn't know already.

If I get nice aftermarket wheels for the G70, I plan to see if my local wheel shop can duplicate the finish on them. I like how it's a dark copper/chrome that's almost black, but not quite.

I would have thought they were powdered coated. It’s much more durable than most normal spray paints and provides a uniform thickness from the electrical charged spray process. . When I curbed a wheel on my Mazda the wheel shop powdered coated the whole wheel after fixing the ding. Looked perfect.

^I only know after curbing my rim. You can also tell by removing the wheel and looking on the backside. The inside of the rim's spokes are bare aluminum, and you can see some of the overspray. It also helped that the shop that repaired it told me it was painted. Lol.

Don't worry, the new silver wheels will look exactly like the old gunmetal ones after about 3 days of brake dust.

So washing the car with a power sprayer on the wheels to get brake dust off has not knocked off any factory wheel paint? Painting vs powder coating by Genesis is just saving money. Powder coating, less curb rash is almost indestructible.

Not at all. I have a local car wash station that has bays for you to DIY - I've used their pressure washers on my car and wheels several times with no damage whatsoever, and that thing sprays really strong (for example, I accidentally moved my hand in the way of the spray nozzle and the spray literally sliced my finger open, lol).

Powder coating would be really nice! If you end up doing it, let us know!

i just got my white G70 from CH Hyundai and was pleasantly surprised to see the lighter rims. looks pretty good with the white paint and chrome. i was thinking of the silver but because i had already seen the white in person, i went with it. The Himalayan grey is a great looking color, i am sure you will love it.
