  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone,

Looking for some insight into a problem I am currently facing with my car. I own a 2021 Genesis G70 2.0T w/manual transmission. It is lowered on Eibach pro kit springs and upgraded Whiteline sway bars front and rear. Whenever I exceed 130 km/h, the car begins to shake very aggressively in the front end (you feel it in the pedals)! I have had the car aligned and all wheels balanced, that still didn't fix the problem. I even used another set of wheels (my winters), mounted brand new tires and that did not help at all. Problem only beings after exceeding 130 km/h and while accelerating, usually goes away once you are below 100 km/h while slowing down.

Is anyone else facing this problem or has any insight I would really appreciate it!

If I read you correctly, this shaking only happens above 130 kph and while accelerating (on the gas pedal). Does it shake when you let off the gas pedal but still above 130kph?

If it happens only with on the gas, then it is likely in the powertrain.

Next step is to find out if it's speed-related or RPM-related. Take note of what RPM your engine pulls at 130kph at top gear. Then manually downshifts to 5th and even 4th gear, and run the engine up through that same RPM you noted preciously. See if the same thing happens at similar RPMs.

If it's RPM-related, then it could possibly a bad engine mount. Certain RPMs hits a resonant frequency that excites that worn motor mount. That would also explain why it only happens when you're on the gas.

This is very helpful! I will do some further testing and report back! Thank you

Here is what I can tell you:

The vibration/shake occurs between 120 - 150 no matter what RPM or gear you are in. Once you are in that range the car will shake (accelerating or decelerating).

Does the vibration affect the steering wheel? Maybe get under the car and check if any of the baffles plates or shields might be loose or missing retaining clips/bolts.
