  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I bought one of the 1st 2022 3.3T's to hit west coast of Florida.. had reservations buying one of the 1st runs of these cars but was assured, 90% the same as last years models mechanically. Himalayan grey with black wheels , they had me when they pulled the car up for test drive

1st month was typical honeymoon with a new car. One of the best looking cars on the market IMO, power scares you a times, build quality and materials seemed much better than the Audi A6 I traded in. Then the my head starts to get in the way... Is anyone else noticing these issues?

-My wife's Hyundai palisade downshifts 10X smoother than this car, with soft brakes, its really noticeable now that I think about it on EVERY stop. ECO mode the worse for this... actually gets worse after the transmission heats up. seems like a programming fix could remedy this as comfort mode is a little better
-Also a strange sour smell from underneath the car after a 45 min commute , that's got better as time passes
-Parked in idle with door programming the Homelink the 1st week and I hear what sounds like a license plate frame dropping on the ground. I am so certain I heard this , put the car up on ramps and inspected for anything loose
-Creaks from center console between the seats - damn this was disappointing , everything feels so solidly built
-Sunroof Creaks, its a complex system up there , close the power sun shade and muffles it a little bit - maybe that's why they made it a power sunshade, once you close it to muffle the noise, really never open it again..
-Noticed both rear wheels seem to be negative camber 2.0 deg on right, .9 deg on left (level and iPhone)
- wifi charger doesn't charge 12 pro max w/o a case on - oh well wireless chargers finicky anyways

Go ahead and Roast me whatever psychological issues I may have....well anyways, car's going in for 3500 service at local Hyundai dealer shortly and I'm going to communicate all these concerns . I'll share if anything of value comes up

The only one I've noticed is the center console can creak if pushed. The rest my car doesn't do.... sorry.

Sun roof rattle noise is a known problem with some. My 2020 has been fine so far...knock on wood. The downshift issue has been discussed here before. Seems most folks notice it more when the trans is still cold and as it warms up the downshift is much less noticeable. I stay in comfort mode mostly and rarely notice the downshift. A lot of Genesis dealers like to say can’t duplicate an issue that your squawking. Go drive with the service advisor to be sure they can feel the hard downshift. Maybe a reprogram can soften that up some.

I had a 2019 3.3T and upgraded to the 2022 3.3T Launch Edition. 800 miles and went in today for a few items. Known sunroof issue and wireless charging is not working at all. I really don't notice the hard downshifts as I run in sport or sport+ mode and it should be a bit less comfortable with some nice exhaust resonance. IMO.

Overall love my 2022.

I have a 2022 with about 1500 km on it and can only validate the creaks from the centre console. I am not 100% sure it is coming from there but I believe I am hearing the same thing you are.

The downshifts feel smooth to me. Then again I came from a 5.0 Mustang so anything is going to be smoother than that.

I don't seem to have any of the other issues. I disabled wireless charging as the cord is faster.

I had the hard downshifting complaint as well. After 5-10k miles, it did seem to get better. But it took a long time.

Alternatively, you can pull an upshift paddle as you're starting to brake. This forces the car to hold a higher gear as long as possible instead of following the harsh downshift pattern. As long as you come to a complete stop for a second or 2, it'll automatically go back into drive go when you take off again.
