  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

About a week ago I started noticing my front right corner sensor alarm going off when I come to a stop in traffic. Then it started happening at every stop. Eventually I noticed that it happens regardless of a vehicle in front of me or not. As long as the car is in Drive, and im not moving at least a couple MPH, the alarm is ringing. It finally stopped during one trip. Then proceeded to start back up for the front left side. Occasionally cutting off quickly, like it's being shorted. Then constantly on the left.
Nothing in front, only when stopped and the car is in Drive. Obviously under warranty, but a hassle to make a appointment, and im working every day until after the holidays.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Check the sensor. Make sure it doesn't have plastic protective film over it. Other than that and cleaning it, there isn't much you can do.

Ty, checked to make sure each were clean. And had the car for a year. it just started happening. There's no plastic films still on the car.

Please do. Genesis connect says they think the Car wash has affected one of the sensors. But I cant get into the dealership until around Jan 10.

Welcome to winter with parking sensors. I'm in northern Alberta and anytime I wash my vehicle in the winter the sensors start acting up. It is due to a thin ice build up in the sensor itself. I have had many vehicles that have the same issue every winter season so it is not just with Genesis.

Now I am not sure where you live and if it does get cold out but this is a problem I see consistently every winter.

I live in Chicago. it gets quite cold here also. But has been unseasonably warm the last few weeks (40s-60s) and the problems never went away. it's a roaming issue, now that I've had time to watch it morph. what is actually happening is every time I come to a stop my Parking Assist button lights back up, so I have to press it every time I come to a stop to shut it back off. Then depending on how the car feels that stop, I may get any assortment of front sensors warnings during that stop, until I start rolling again. And once I get going, the sensors stop alarming but the parking assist button will stay lit until I press it off again. Some stops I get lucky and my car is quiet. Some times they start going off mid stop. Sometimes left, sometimes right, sometime both, sometimes all three, and sometimes they take turns. So go figure that one out.

Yup same thing happens to me. The parking sensors turn on automatically once you get below a certain speed and then turn off once you accelerate past that speed. Same exact thing happened with my past vehicles with parking sensors. Only way to defeat it is to turn the system off altogether in the vehicle setup menu. But then you don't have them at all.

It's a pain honestly, but it's the same issue with many different vehicle makes and models. Just trust me when I tell you that you aren't alone.
