  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A few days ago my 2022 G70 processed a software update titled "2024 1st Navigation Map and Software Update" (see link below). At the top of the New Features list was that I can now "Use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without having to connect via a USB cable". In my case, it would be Android Auto. However, after following the instructions to delete my phone from the car's bluetooth setup and likewise delete the car from my phones bluetooth setup, then re-pairing the phone to the car, I still can't connect to Android Auto without use of the USB cable. I've now tried three times and stating with the second attempt I have restarted the phone after deleting the car from the bluetooth setup, but still no joy. I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 that's only a little over a year old and the software us up to date so it shouldn't be an issue in regards to phone compatibility or missing software updates.

Has anyone had an luck getting Wireless Android Auto to work on their 2022 G7 (or other model) where previously a USB cable was required? And assistance on the magic you worked would be much appreciated.

How about Apple CarPlay? Any luck there?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Thanks.

I just got the car recently and this is my first Genesis so still learning to navigate the systems. How would I know that the G70 isn't supported based on the update documentation?

I can see in the release notes reference to the platform "Premium-Class Gen6", and mine I now see is "Standard-class Gen5W", so I assume that rules me out. What about the reference to "cclC/cclC27", what does that signify?

Just trying to improve my understanding so next time I'm not so very disappointed when such a sweet update isn't for me.

Thanks again.

As previously stated, our G70s with Standard-class Gen5W are not compatible with wireless CarPlay (Android or Apple). There are devices available, though, that plug into the USB port that provide wireless connections, but most have occasional glitches. I really wish my 2023 G70 had wireless CarPlay, but I've lived without it for almost 2 years so it isn't the end of the world.
