  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just ordered a 2023 G70 3.3T base (no 2022's left around by me)... MSRP is now $44,650, up over 2 grand from 2022 -- OUCH! And no changes in the car or offerings that I can see.

Guess Hyundai prefers to make that money than dealers. Ha ha. But yes, just saw a review of a 2023 2.0T Sport Prestige and it had a $47,340 sticker, so probably AWD, but still, at least 2 grand above a 2022, as you mentioned. I'm waiting for confirmation of the one I'll probably end up with, and I'm pretty sure is a 2022. Unfortunately, it's the same ugly plain white as the 3.3T SP I had to return (engine issue), but being one of the last 2022s, can't get picky, so if all is well, we'll take it, even with the ridiculous $400 lighted door sills.

My dealer, although they says it sells at MSRP, "forced" me (mandatory) to take a $1600 pkg. protection they add on (probably worth $400) and the factory added a first aid kit, trunk mat, wheel locks and rear bumper sill protection film, for another $700. So this "base" 2024 G70 with standard color and 2WD is now $49K with B.S. dealer, title and tag fees, not including tax

nothing was forced. you accepted the deal. Hint. its not actually forced. Its just you didnt resist enough

He meant 'forced' as take-it-or-leave-it, not that you are forced to buy the car, so it was accurate :). I refuse to pay anything over MSRP myself, but I'm having to wait a lot longer for something to arrive at the only dealer in 500 miles around who is selling at MSRP. All others are charging 2-grand for a mandatory 'accessory package'. After having to return the 3.3T SP G70, the only other G70 that is coming is another cheapo Alta white 2.0T, but at least it's the top line SP, and also gray, so will have to take it if no more glaring defects. Confirmed the 2.0T doesn't come with a noisy exhaust (that sounds like crap on the 3.3T IMO), so it's a go. We'll lose some nice options only available on the 3.3T, but we'll be happier with a quieter car for long trips. We always drive in sport mode, where the stupid exhaust moans like a goat in distress. Ha ha. And without being able to turn it off, even with the custom setting. So glad it had an engine issue, and dealer accepted to return it, since we just weren't happy with the car. And besides the ugly paint defect by the hood, it had lots of deep rattles that I wouldn't be able to fix, so just not the car for a picky couple. Ha ha. Hope the upcoming 2.0 is not built on a Friday :).

Rate of inflation for 2022 is projected to hit close to 7%. EVERYTHING is getting more expensive.

The price increase is unfortunate but I'd be surprised if all manufacturers aren't pushing through similar increases.

Oh yeah, and I don't blame them. It's better for them to keep the extra profits than dealers IMO.

But on a side comment, just found out I'll have no choice but to pay the extra 2+ grand for a 2023. I was under the impression the 2022 2.0T Prestige had ventilated seats, but they do NOT. So will have to buy a 2023, which it does. Unfortunately, I much preferred the wheels 2022 2.0T Prestiges have, but new 2.0Ts, also called Sport Prestige now, will have the same black ones as the 2022 3.3T SPs. Oh well. Not a deal-breaker. By the way, just got confirmation 2023s still have seat memory and acoustic glass in front windows, even though both items were deleted from the window sticker, so nice to know. Apparently they're going to look just like the 3.3T, except the single exhaust, which I like better, since the tips on the 3.3T are 'semi-fake' meaning just a cavity, where you can see the muffler tips. The fake ones are those on Acuras, and other vehicles that just look like tips, but are not even hollowed, so completely fake. So from barely 43 grand, I'll have to pay over 45 for the 23... but at least it'll be a year newer. It arrives until late July though, so it'll be a long wait. But there are no other competitors we're interested in, so will just wait for it. Scottsdale has exactly the color my wife wants, and it just got there, but I'm not going to pay any markup, let alone $2,500. That greedy Earnhardt guy can shove it up where the sun doesn't shine. Ha ha.

Just got my 2023 3.3T today... traded-in a 2020 Challenger Scat Pack, so I need to get used to the quiet :)
