  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was recently impacted by the Connected Services problem (Feb 2025) and had to disconnect/reconnect the negative battery cable in the trunk to hard-reset the Infotainment system (fixed). After receiving a prior battery low warning while in Accessory mode, I decided to charge up my battery.

When reviewing the (downloaded) Owners Manual in the section on Jump Starting, I noticed that the left-column diagram and caption on page 8-5 for the under-the-hood battery connections was shown BACKWARDS! The next diagram on the top of the right-column is correct but less detailed.

In the Owners Manual, the "A: Negative Terminal" is shown to be underneath the engine compartment Fuse Box cover, when that terminal is really the "A: Positive Terminal". The Fuse Box cover is clearly marked with a "+" sign, which is correct. This was also confirmed when I hooked up a smart charger correctly, e.g. positive lead to the terminal in the Fuse Box, negative lead to the post under the engine cross-brace. That post is marked on top with a "-" sign, which is correct, but it is also shown incorrectly in the Owners Manual.

Bottom line: The left-side diagram in 2023 G90 Owner's Manual Jump Start section on page 8-5 appears to be INCORRECT and BACKWARDS which could lead to a DANGEROUS jump start connection! Please use care.

I can't speak to later G90 years and their Owner Manuals, but I'm hoping someone else on this forum can check 2024 & 2025.

It’s not a G90 but the 2025 G70 manual shows it correctly.

Is your model by chance the SC? If so, how difficult was it to access the 12v battery?

My G90 does not have the E-Supercharger, its just the base Turbo V6.

The 12V battery for my G90 is in the trunk under the spare tire. Once you take out the spare tire, the 12V negative cable is on the drivers side of the battery and is pretty easy to disconnect & reconnect. All I needed was a 10mm socket/wrench. A crisp execution minimizes sparking.

I think the E-Supercharger G90 also has a 44V battery/pack, which may complicate access, but I don't think it needs to be disconnected to fix Connected Services. But... You're on your own with this model. Post what you learn.

Good luck.

Mine is the SC and from what I’ve seen so far it looks like a 12v battery replacement is a trip to the dealer instead of AutoZone.
