  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi there,

I'm new here and looking at purchasing a 2023 GV70 AWD Diesel here in Australia.

JK.V2 MY23 2.2D AWD Wagon 5dr Spts Auto 8sp AWD 2.2DT

I can't seem to find much info on the diesel model - its not listed on Genesis (Australian) website

Is it still a current engine - is there any major issue with it?

Cheers

It would come as no surprise to you the it is a Hyundai engine, perhaps have a trawl through some of their SUV forums. Bottom line is almost no-one outside Europe choses it.

I’m an Australian GV70 owner, 3.5tt in my case.

I believe Genesis Australia have now dropped the diesel from their lineup.

That is unfortunate!! If they offered it in North America, I would have very seriously considered it before gas! (EV's are not yet for me...)

I think it was simple economics. They just didn’t sell enough diesel GV70’s to justify continuing with them. Agree with you on the EV point. I live in a provincial city and do a lot of trips over 3 hours to family. EV just wouldn’t work. Might make a good town car, but not for serious travel.

Hi Frosty

I am also new to this forum and in Australia. I am also looking at the Diesel model of the GV70 but can't seem to find much information on it. Did you end up purchasing one? If so, how is your experience so far?
