  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone have any inside info or heard any rumors regarding the above? I really wish you could get the "Sport Advanced" styling and especially the blacked out wheels on the 2.0T. (I know KDM models both pre and post refresh could get a sport trim with dual exhausts even on the 2.0t models.) Additionally, as funky as it may sound to some, I would love to have Barossa Burgundy on the G70 either in the metallic or the matte. The color was added to the KDM GV80 for the current model year so I have a hunch it may be proliferating to other models.

^ you can always try and negotiate with your dealer for a wheel swap. i saw that on a couple of occasions at my local Genesis store. they'd swap the sport 5-spoke or prestige 10-spoke wheels to close a deal. i agree the 2.0T should have symmetrical dual exhaust outlets like the KDM cars. that's always been irritating knowing they have the parts developed - why not offer that for NA to match essentially all the competitors as well as most other lesser cars on the road nowadays?

Yeah but I'm one of those high maintenance people who wants the black trim from the sport package too lol. I mean they obviously had "Sport" in the U.S. from '19-'21. Could be waiting on sales figures before they reconfigure the trims in '23?

Lots of precedent for the reshuffling of equipment on trims. They changed the base wheel color from dark grey to a light grey from 19 to 20, dropped cooled seats from the 2.0t Elite package, and added that power open and close trunk in either '20 or '21 (before removing the power close for 2022). Also 2021 bare bones base trim got the full LED headlights for '21 but I think that was just to retain the IIHS 5 star rating with the heightened headlight standards.

Colorwise I know the brown interior became an option starting '20 and they dropped the black interior w/ burgundy dash after '19. Also lots of color reformulations in '20 plus the green becoming an exterior color option on all trims.

As an aside I know Lexus scrambled to add a bunch of luxe features that were JDM exclusive to the IS 300 when the 2021 model didn't even have rear cupholders among other things... they also don't have F Sport on the IS 300 anymore although Japan still has it.

I haven’t heard any specific updates at this time and I’m certainly on the lookout for any 2023 G70 information. I heard that Genesis’ 2023’s are supposed to go on sale in March but I don’t know if that’s true or which models will go on sale first. I figured the 2023 G70 would be first since it was the first 2022 model to go on sale last April.

I think Genesis makes waaaay too many variations of the G70. In every OTHER market, the G70 gets heated rear seats, power trunk lid, the 3D gauge cluster, Matte paint options, Sevilla red leather, amber rear turn signals and ambient lighting as normal options/features on Sport Prestige trims. Ironically, in Canada, you get all of the above except the 3D gauge cluster, amber turn signals and ambient lighting. In Korea, you even get the Smart posture seating position, clean air mode (air purification button under the heated steering wheel button), LED matrix front lighting, carpeted rear parcel trunk liner, and the Dynamic I pkg with Michelin PS4S summer tires and the upgraded Brembo brake pads.

Right, I forgot about the launch edition keeping even more things exclusive! The launch edition has by far my favorite wheels ever on any car and I do love the red seats. They even have a version with the vertical stitching a la sport advanced in Korea which looks very smart. The thing that gets me is that they deleted those rear heated seats and power trunk after having it in the US for a stretch. I would be more inclined to get a loaded 4 cyl than a base V6 but when the choice becomes a 4 cyl with some features here or there and a V6 with some features here or there I would be more inclined to go with the V6 model. And then this whole calculus would change if they shoehorned the 2.5t into it as Kia did with the stinger.

Yeah naw you don’t turn down a base V6 which is loaded for a inline 4 makes no sense. These items are the difference cross out the wheels bc that comes in the base V6 and it’s 1k less than the prestige package 2.0. Nothing on this list adds up to a V6 engine. The base V6 g70
May be one of the best car buys available. For the price of a maxima you get a car that can run with a m340 that cost $70k.

I 100% agree that with the G70 you are getting an insane engine for an insane price with the 3.3t but man... I just cannot do a f-ing 6 speaker sound system! My old '04 Infiniti G35 sedan had 7! I may be wrong but I think the Lexicon 15 speaker was always standard on the V6 in the US and they even had that stripper base V6 trim without a sunroof for 2019 that had it. But if they did have it standard on the V6 then I wouldn't even think about a 4-cyl.

Its not 6 speakers without Lexicon. Looks like lexicon is them simply adding 4 speakers to a. Existing 11 speaker system.

Nah it’s either 6 or 15 for USDM G70s. There was a 9 speaker system in the middle that is offered in South Korea and other markets. The Stinger had either 6/9/15 speaker options in the US until ‘22 when they made the 9 speaker system standard across all trims. I think that should be the bare minimum for the G70. They may be trying to cut costs somewhere in exchange for adding a sunroof to the base V6 and making navigation standard on all trims.
