  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hmm, I wonder what car they modeled this after. It even has red Brembo calipers.

It would be nice to have the 6-speed manual in the 3.3T though.

Genesis needs an upscale Elantra for a bunch more $$$$.

They didn't model that car on anything particular. Lots of cars have red Brembos. Besides, it's a FWD. Dynamics is nothing like a RWD platform, at least not at enthusiast pace.

I suppose it's a nice "Civic Type-R for grown-ups".

Great looking little car but 300hp fwd 6spd, for 53k? (after tax and markup you are in the low to mid 60's)

I feel they missed the point of the car, anyone spending that coin on a car will have to be a huge honda fanboy to get one. The options are way superior, the g70 3.3T will wreck this car in every category (Aside perhaps a low speed very tight twisty road like tail of the dragon), but 99% of other scenarios it wont come close to the genesis.

Not sure why they priced it the way they did it, especially since the TLX Type S is about the same price....

The novelty of driving the 6 speed will wear off fast and then you are stuck with a 300hp fwd sedan

You'd have to crazy to pay markup for that thing... but I'm sure some people will. No way I'd buy a FWD compact for that money.

Simple, because Honda knows that their dealers marked up all Civic Type R's out the wazoo, and figured that if their customers were willing to pay that much for a freaking Civic, they would do the same for its barely-changed Acura counterpart. And they're probably right.

In Canada, the Integra is 9K less then the TLX Type-S

57K vs 66K

Both are over priced.

I see more of them than I do G70 around these parts. Boggles my mind.

Honda has been living off past glory for several generations now. They hit a jackpot with the Civic TypeR, but this Integra is nothing but a gussied up Civic. Sorry, but TypeS is not even close to what Honda does to label a car a TypeR. The old Integra TypeR rolled over in its grave when this TypeS released. Granted the old Integra TypeS also didn't hold a candle to the actual TypeR, but my point remains; Honda has been sitting on their laurels for far too long. I used to be a Toyota fan when I bought the 85 MR2, then bought the 91 and 92 MR2 turbo. Toyota eventually became the Buick of the Japanese carmakers when they decided it was all about building boring sedans and to maximize sales.
Honda had the CRX Si, S2000, the first NSX, the early Integras, heck, even the early Accords and Civics were all fun to drive. Now Toyota and Honda have nothing in their lineups I'd want to spend my money on.
