  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all! I'm not a Genesis owner (yet), but I've been watching the market and am very interested in a GV70 (although I'll be waiting until next year as there are a lot of manufacturer refreshes expected for similar SUVs in that segment and I want to see those before buying a new car). One of my must-haves for a new vehicle is wireless Car Play (which I've heard should be coming to the GV70 through a software update), but I'm also curious what refresh the 2025 model might bring. I've scoured the internet for details and found some videos showing expected exterior changes (wheels, front bumper changes to mirror the new GV80), but does anyone have any info on expected interior changes? I saw that the refreshed GV80 got rid of the center screen and separate instrument cluster for one single, wide screen display, but I can't see an easy way for Genesis to add that to the GV70 without a more involved dashboard redesign. Has anyone heard any details of what to expect? I'm interested if you've read or seen something I haven't been able to find yet. Thanks!

I dont have any info on the 2025 changes including the wireless connections but I wanted to let you know my experience with wireless carplay/android auto. I almost did not buy my 2023 GV70 due to the lack of wireless connection thinking it was pretty cheesy to exclude that from a $50K+ car. Ultimately, I decided to go with it anyway and just deal with the cables. After reading on the forums of the wireless adapters that are available for less the $100, I am glad I did. I bought one, plugged it in to the car port and you would never know that the car did not come with it.

Which model wireless adapter did you buy? How can you plug it in and still be able to fit the phone in the place to charge? Got a pic to share how it looks? Thanks.

I use Android Auto (AA) and not Carplay so my adapter is different from what you will want. There are others on this forum with good and bad recommendations/reviews for wireless Carplay as well as dual Carplay/AA adapters if you search here or on Amazon. I use the Motorola MA1 which is AA only. It plugs in with a short cable and sits at the bottom of the phone bin. It does not stop me from using the wireless charger but I will warn you that the wireless charger is not very good. It has a very low charge rate, especially if the phone is not placed exactly on center. I am actually getting ready to turn it off and install a magsafe charger puck on that side of the bin or maybe in the center console.

Below is a pic of the adapter. Sorry, I have no pics of my car to send right now as my wife has it. I can add them later.

Can also confirm I use a different apple CarPlay adapter and it works flawlessly 95% of the time. if it doesn't work I just unplug and plug it back in and it works. This happens if you put the car into gear before hitting confirm on the infotainment screen which can take a few seconds to boot. If you unlock the car from far while walking it will be booted by the time you sit.

Thanks everybody, but I definitely wasn't looking for any info on wireless apple CarPlay adapters. Does ANYONE have info on what updates the 2025 GV70 might bring?

No sorry but in general I'd expect the same redesign of the interior cabin of the gv80 to carry over to the gv70.

Also forgot to add that the gv80 got a hybrid stop start engine that increased hp to 400, I'd also expect that engine option to become available.

I’ve honestly wondered what caused it to work vs. not on a daily basis. Thanks for sharing this 🙏🏻

Same here...I have a Motorola MA1 wireless AA adapter - the only time it didn't work for me is when the concierge Genesis driver brought my car back and had unplugged it so he could plug his phone in and it took me a couple of minutes to get it plugged in and working again. Not impressed with their drivers - new radio stations programmed in, every setting changed...why can't you leave things alone?

Anyway, they work good - I get some interference driving past our airport sometimes but other than that, haven't had any problems.

That's a bit rude of their service peeps!! Makes me wish there was a "Valet" mode for *all* the settings - locks out everything but the Start/Stop with a password or maybe that fingerprint thing. That would really bug me!

Agreed! Valet service shouldn't be using YOUR vehicle for their personal desires/settings. I would be escalating this 'abuse' very quickly. Personally I have avoided valetet service for this exact reason.

If the guys in the shop are reprogramming the radio presets and seat positions/memories, that could be indicative of them using your car for more than just moving it around within the compound. I had a friend who happens to own a car tuning shop call me up one time to tell me that some guys from the Audi dealership I go to had driven my R8 along with another customer's R8 to his shop for no good reason. They were literally out for a joy ride in customers' cars. You can be sure I confronted the management about it.

There was a situation a while back where a tech took someone's brand new corvette out for a joy ride. The guy drove it like the guys on Ferris Buehler.
The owner had a camera mounted and all of it was recorded. It was widely publicized. The owner of the dealership ended up apologizing and I think gave the guy a new car.

They’re putting a 27 inch screen across the dash, restyling bumpers, wheels, interior. Adding HP to 304 & 380

Where did you hear about the change in HP, someplace reputable? I'm hoping they also make them a little more fuel efficient but haven't read anything about engine changes so was curious where you got that info.

I have not heard anything about a horsepower increase, and the current Sport Prestige produces 375HP. Therefore, a 5HP increase to 380HP is not significant. A Korean YouTube page showcases renderings based on the spied cars in Korea.
