  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can anyone tell me if all GV80s have the cruse control switches on the left side of the steering wheel? I recently had a 25 GV80 loaner which is opposite from my GV70. Any guess why two similar models have different control locations?

I'm on my 7th Hyundai/Genesis automobile. The first 6 had the CC on the right. My 2025 Sonata is on the left. Radio controls moved to the right.
At least the turn signal is in the same place.

2021 GV80, Right side. 2025 GV80 Coupe, left side.

2021 GV80 tach, counter clockwise. 2025 GV80 Coupe tach, clockwise.

Seems like a dumb move as most automobile companies want to keep things the same for their customers.

Maybe that is why they changed. I know there are regulations on control placement on autonomous cars. Perhaps the industry is trying to standardize this too? That would be logical.

I believe 2025 was a refresh year for the GV80, and that's when the steering wheel controls were flipped with SCC on the left and radio on the right. The refresh year for the GV70 is the 2026 model with SCC on the left and radio on the right, so the controls for the two vehicles are now beginning to match up again.

Why they did it, I have no idea. I prefer the old locations, which also matches my old 2007 Infiniti G35.

Wanted to confirm this on both my 25 G80 and GV80. 26s also continue to have them swapped on the entire line. It was a learning curve for sure for the first month, but more you use them it gets to be the new normal.
