  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What are the major differences between a 2013 versus a 2014 3.8. Trim is tech package?

Thanks,
Rod

As far as I know, nothing.

If there is something, I'll be a little miffed (since I have a 2013). :)

Thanks. I really couldn't find anything significantly different. I am looking at a 2013 3.8 Tech package that is $3,000 less than a 2014 3.8 Tech package. I am getting the 2013.

Thanks,
Rod

I believe that the 14 Tech has auto dimming outside mirrors, and all the 14's have a different electric power boost power steering system.
The Base and Premium packages have many more changes than the Tech package has.

I just looked at Edmunds because I was now curious. For 2014, the power steering was "retuned" in the 3.8 trim level for better feel, but the auto-dimming outside mirrors appear to be an RSpec only feature.

Not true. I have an 2014 with premium and tech package and the mirrors are auto dimming. No RSpec here.

Interesting. I based my comment on this, from Edmunds:

"The Genesis 5.0 R-Spec includes all of the above, plus a V8 engine, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, illuminated sill plates, a heated steering wheel, sport-tuned suspension and steering, and unique exterior and interior trim"

I know the 2013 Tech doesn't have auto-dimming exterior mirrors.

I'm betting the 2013 Tech has the auto dimming mirrors (3 mirrors) since my '09 Tech does.

I've yet to seem them dim on mine.

Anyone else with a '13 Tech have dimming side mirrors?

Check your symbols on your mirror - if you have both listed in this pic, than the mirrors are auto dimming and heated.

Those symbols are not on my mirrors. But the mirrors are heated (using the "Rear" defrost button).
