  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Location
Los Angeles, CA area
2009 3.8 Sedan, purchased April 2009
25,653 miles, daily driver
20.9 MPG combined over 80 fill-ups
Stock tires at 4/32" (rotated every 5K)
Stock brakes at 7mm (front) and 8mm (back)
Air filter and cabin filter changed on schedule
Synthetic oil changes every 7K

No major issues.
Minor issues: one mysterious shutdown (no re-occurrence), one loss of sound on Lexicon system (solved by reboot, no re-occurrence), and flickering dome lights with plate and puddle lights burning out (dome switch replaced under warranty, no re-occurrence).

Still the best car I've ever owned.

Replaced poor Dunflops at 18,000 miles. Oil and filter changes at every 5000 mile. No problems except for steering wheel reset once in while. Now have 37000+ miles on 2011 Genny.

glad to hear the car is working out.

we have an 09 4.6 tech and have close to 20k on ours (we bought it used w/ 15800k miles) . just took it to the dealer for an oil change and new air filter.
so far so good. we're really impressed w/ this car as it is our first luxory car.

btw does anyone use the shiftronic for manuel shifting? i was playing around w/ this and droping some gears on the freeway, and boy does she move- lots of fun.

I have to concur. I have had a few small problems that have been addressed by warranty. But other than that it's been trouble free. I also have 4/32 on original Dunlops at 24k miles. I really like this car, and it doesn't surprise me that Hyundai recently placed first on owner loyalty for Kelly Blue Book. I would definitely buy another Genesis and am open to other Hyundai products in the future.
