  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone, I'm about to lower my GV70 with M&S Springs sometime next week and I'm trying to figure out which size spacer will look best so that it sits flush? I've done research online and haven't really seen any other GV70s with 20mm or 25mm size spacers with a similar drop. Any info will be appreciated it. Thanks!

Are you keeping stock wheels? If so, 20 mm is likely to work in the back, but tire will poke in the front, but not sure with what the section width is on the 21" tire. That said, by lowering, you are now introducing other variables, such as distance between wheel and tire to fender fender, change in camber etc, to which I cannot speak.

Here's what I calculated manually (with no lowering taken into consideration), with my actual car using level and steel metric ruler, but with 19" wheels that are 8" wide, ET39, and the 235 series stock tires with section width of 10". The 21" stock are 9" wide, ET43, but not sure of the section width of the tire.

  • Front wheel to flush: 23 mm
  • Front tire to flush: 13 mm
  • Rear wheel to flush: 28.5 mm
  • Rear tire to flush: 22 mm

Note that the above measurements are based on the widest point of the vehicle...ie. very top of fender opening. Also, of course, this is based on my camber which was within spec but at the higher end as per dealer.

As a result, I figured with a 265 series tire on my 21" aftermarket wheels, I can go with a ET32 with very slight poke of the tire (which will be wider than the wheel) in the front. The wheel manufacturer agreed and spec'd them out with that offset.

Oh, if you get a spacer, make sure you get a good quality bolt on that is hub centric. Even then you risk possibility of introducing vibrations. I used a spacer on my Highlander years ago and even though they were good quality hub centric, still had shimmy at highway speeds with them on, that instantly disappeared when I took them off.

Awesome , thank you so much!

PICS!!! Details when you do it!! WHich GV70 trim level is your car?
