  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello Everyone,

I hope all is well with you all. I have a question for anyone who currently owns a 2015 model year Genny that has owned the 1st generation Genny. How is the driver seat in the new Genny compared to the last generation one? I have a 2013 Genny with the standard package, 3.8. I really like the looks of my car. I’ve gotten high as 33mpg on the highway doing 75mph but, the major issue I have with my car is after about 4 hours of driving it on the highway... My back is on fire!!! OMG!! It’s insane! Has anyone had this issue? I really want to upgrade to the 2015 model year Genny or even an Equus! I need to know if the comfort is really there on the seats with the 2nd generation Genny and Equus.......

I had a 2010 and now have a 2g Ultimate and the driver's seat is fantastic. However, I don't remember being particularly uncomfortable in the 1g so I can't assure you that you won't have at least some problem with it if you have a unique back issue. Good luck whatever you decide.

The seat comfort is substantially improved. There is one fellow here who had back problems and the Gen 1 was killing him. He now has a gen 2 and is apparently not having any more issues so they must have done something right.

The lumbar support is very adjustable. And I like the wing adjustment.

I am not a previous Genesis owner but I will add that this seat in the new 2015 Genesis is outstanding. I have had back issues in other vehicles to the point where I had to install lumbar supports in them. This cars lumbar support not only adjusts in & out, but also up and down. That along with the power side bolsters and the leg support extension really sets this seat apart from any other vehicles I have owned. You will not be disappointed.

I agree. I had a 2011 and also found it to very confortale specially on long trips. Drove it to Florida twice. It was only after owning the 2015 that a difference can be noticed. But again it was a very confortable car.

I always found my Gen1 seats very comfortable and my wife agreed. I am very happy with the Gen2 seats and really like the additional under-thigh and bolster adjustments. My wife however doesn't think the passenger seat is as comfortable although she has not yet had any long trips yet and maybe hasn't played with the new height/angle adjustments.

The passenger seat on my Tech has many more adjustments than my 2011 had, including lumbar.
