  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I’m new to the Genesis brand (I’ve had an 05 Tiburon SE and a 2013 Optima SX) and am looking for recommendations on an exhaust system for my AWD 2021 G80 Prestige. I’ve been searching for a while and haven’t had much luck finding anything.

I was wondering the same thing.. I saw some YouTube videos of older G80's with custom catback exhausts & muffler delete that sounded decent. I did that way back in the day to a Pontiac Grand Am GT that I had and it sounded similar to the G80's on YouTube. I'm curious to know if the sound of a custom catback exhaust with muffler delete on any car (no matter the motor size) would sound similar to one another and if it would actually sound decent on the 2021+ G80's?.. Seems like there is barely any aftermarket products for the newer gen models.

I hope they come out with something simple such as a rear roof spoiler. The carbon fiber lip kit they make gives the car a more aggressive look but is way too expensive. I'm old enough now to realize that customizing cars is not a good investment so I try to stick with the cheaper mods these days.

Let me know if you find anything because I’m curious. I’d like to at least open it up a little bit, but don’t want to have to worry about the state inspection stuff with a full muffler delete.

Will do.

I have a Maintec Exhaust, from sharkracing cost me 2100$ shipped from Korea, all stanless, thick, H pipe, and valved you can open and close it, also this the 3.3 G80 sport, but I think it will fit!

You think that would that fit the 5.0?

Yeah a 100% sure, I also have custom downpipes.
I was thinking that. It looks the same from the cat back but you can't really judge stuff like that from the pictures.

I have a G80 sport 3.3tt AWD, and it has the same body as the 5.0 the difference between the two are the headers, I even suspect both cars have the same secondary downpipes.

There's also a tcu tune that may work on your car, I have it on my car it lower the shift point by 8%, but since you have the 5.0 you may need to extend the shift point higher RPM, or keep the same RPM and just change how fast the shift from gear to gear occurs and you can choose from 4 different levels!
