  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

3.8 AWD or 5.0

The choice is all about what you want in a car. Raw power or more control. I like quick cars, however I also like the better sense of control of AWD cars as well. If I had to own only one than I would buy a AWD model, even if I have to buy a slower model.

I have an AWD full sized SUV for bad weather days, so the RWD 5.0 is a perfect match in my garage. But if you have to only have one car, then get the AWD 3.8 for year round reliable transportation in all weather conditions.
I agree with Carguy75. I owned a 2015 3.8 with all of the options that they sometimes refer to as an Ultimate. It was a great car and had enough power, but I recently upgraded to the 5.0 and I am glad I did. It isn’t a matter of needing the power, but it is fun.

As far as the traction issue, that became a concern when I moved to an area that gets quite a bit of snow. I like my 5.0 Ultimate so much that I actually got an all-wheel drive SUV for the winter time because I don’t want to give it up.
