  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just wanted to give you 3.8 owners a heads up:

I just got off the phone with BTR. The sedan and coupe 3.8 is now able to be tuned in any fashion you wish. Turbo/Twin Turbo setups may require internals, but NA will not.

:D:welcome::D

Oh, as most know, something is in the works for the 4.6 owners as well. Results to come in August.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
August? So close yes soooo far away.

It takes time. They are working on it, but it is a different design than the 3.8 and 4.6. It'll happen.

Big thanks to Tailwalker for getting the ball rolling with BTR for the 4.6 tune and getting the word out on the 3.8 options. Ready to start seeing more modified sedans in the coming years. I'm in for the TT setup once my warranty has expired... if I can wait that long.

I have been looking to do some performance modifications to my 2012 3.8. I look forward to speaking with BTR and see what they have to offer.

How much is the mod and when will the info be available on the website

I believe that God 3.8 is ready now. It would be the same as the coupe to my understanding. Give them a call on Monday, and share with the group. It was mentioned in passing as we were discussing other points

Good evening,

I hope all is well with you and yours. I mentioned this in the V8 discussion but I also want to mention it here. I'd like to open some kind of communication with BTR to get them signed on as an authorized vendor. It'll cost them under $100 for the entire year and they'll surely make that back with a single sale and then some - and there are obviously a lot of people interested in their tune - including myself.

We don't have much support here and the few vendors we do have aren't going to stick around if it's as simple as a customer of a company coming along and sending business to the vendor without them needing to "give a little".

I think sites like these are a great platform for businesses to obtain an additional stream of revenue but it costs me money every month and it would be very nice to offset some of those costs so I can continue providing the platform for vendors (and customers alike).

If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you could run this by them...

Thank you very much...

Sal C.

I wonder if we can get a 12.5 - 13.5 second 1320 out of the 3.8 sedan? That would be nice.

13.5 would be a stretch for a tune, intake and exhaust for a naturally aspirated 3.8...

What are the magazines saying they can run the 3.8 in the quarter mile?

If they're saying a 14.2 I know I can launch the hell out of the car. Drive down the 60' I can save at least 2/10s off the quarter mile.

I remember when I had my stock 2004 Grand Prix GTP the magazines said 14.9 stock. I went to the track and was getting a 14.6 w/ a 2.0 60'
By the time I was done with her she ran a 13.2 on a street tire

It all depends on the driver

I think the 3.8 auto coupes are getting 8-10 hp ATW gains.

Nobody that I know of is in the 13s with a stock 3.8 liter V6 Genesis. This tune is going to be nice to shave a few tenths off but nobody is going to see a 13.5 second quarter mile and a 12.5 is absolutely out of the question without serious modifications.

You got your "stock" Grand Prix GTP down to 13.2 with good driving alone? Or was there a tune done to the supercharged engine's ECU?

No, it was a heavily modified GTP. Rockers, Intercooler, Headers are the bigger mods I did.

If our car is stock at 14.2 (not sure of the 60') 3/10 is doable if you get a great launch. Typically for every 1/10th off your 60' is equivalent to 2/10s off your 1/4 mile time. Its never failed me yet

Lets say you launch off the line and nail a 2.0 sixty foot at 14.2

If you can hit a 1.9 your guaranteed almost every time to be at 14.0

Once our Sedan gets fitted with a Cold air intake and a tune I think a 13.5 is definitely attainable.

Now this has me thinking about a nice NOS cheater system, that would be good for another 100 HP or so.

That would be awesome and I hope it happens. I'm just not holding my breath. :p

Yeah I wont hold my breath either, but I'm hearing tuners can squeeze a lot of extra power out of these motors
