Howdy,
My 2012 is now 10+yrs and just crossed 100k miles so it's time for suspension service. I've already redid all the sway bar stuff so it's time to do the shock/struts (henceforth just shocks).
Having a totally base level 3.8 I can go up the stack for new units and they all look to be the same price now between the 3.8, 4.6, 5.0, and R-spec units. Springs stay as they are more tied to the car's weight and I doubt worth spending money on but debating between the 5.0 and R-spec shocks. I've done some reading and not found any long term reports on a 3.8 with R-spec shock only upgrade, just a handful of shock and spring swaps that reported good things though slightly higher ride height. Anyone have any feedback for a daily driver vehicle that wants a bit tighter handling without stiffening the ride over railroad tracks and speed bumps to the point of riding like my 3/4-ton Suburban when unloaded?
Thanks
