  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I refused to pay $35 for an ipod cord from the dealership.... I know how much cheaper you can get that stuff on Amazon.

I was about to buy this $3 cord, but there is no mention of it being able to control through the nav screen.

I'd rather not buy this one if it does the exact same thing, but it says in the description that it controls the music:

They look the same to me. Can any who has tried the cheaper cord tell me if it works as well as any other???

Thanks yall,
Dave

I bought the same type of cable off Amazon $5 a couple years ago and it works just fine using the steering wheel buttons to fwd/rev songs and control volume. Still using it to date with no problems.

Also in the technical details of the $3 cable:

Access your iPod through your factory installed audio controls

Hope this helps some :)

The $3 cord came in and it works perfectsly. DON'T BE FOOLED... you do not need to spend $35 on the cord at the dealership. Buy the $3 one I have listed above.

Amazon or try BIG LOTS. THey usually have all sorts of cables.....but Amazon is a good place. You will get a cable that will work fine. I have my iPod cable cause the dealer 'threw' in in with the deal...LoL....$35 is steep for an iPod cable, especially when I don't even OWN and iPod..... LoL...

iphone 5?

According to reports, the Iphone 5 and the ipod will have a 9 pin plug rather than the current version. Hence, the current Hyundai iphone cable will not work (unless someone makes an adapter).

If Hyundai is listening, if the rumor is true, will Hyundai make a new ipod/iphone cable?

I suspect that if Hyundai doesn't, someone else will.
