3M Clear Bra

Just thought i would let all you tri state genesis owners know that i have done 3 Genesis with the 3M clear Bra on the hood, side view mirrors, all 4 door edges, front 1/4 panels, complete front bumper & inside all 4 door handle cups. The 3M was purchased thru www.invisiblemask.com & comes precut for any make model car. My labor fees cant be beat because i perform all my installations on cars & bikes in my garage so no over head (everywhere i went in NYC to get my genesis done they wanted $900 & up) needless to say i had no choice but to cut the middle man out. oh and i got a scuff mark on my hood a couple of weeks ago that was bad & i have no ideal how i got it, so i ordered another 3M piece just for my hood, peel the one on my hood off & replaced it with a new one, if i didnt have it my genesis would have been at the body shop costing me alot more than that hood 3M piece !

Thanks for the link. The video mades instalation look easy. I'm going to order this and put it on myself. We were at an Infinity dealership recently and they quoted $1200 to put this protection on a G37 convertable we test drove. BTW, your pictures look great.

thanks, i wont say its easy but i wont say its hard either but you have to be prepared to spend a good 6-8 hrs to put it on right & take your time and follow the directions on the dvd , like i said i did 3 cars so far but i work on cars & bikes so it was easy for me, i used to put 3M clear bras on gas tanks on motorcycles so i knew what i was getting into, car dealers & installers try to hit you over your head with a sledge hammer with thier crazy prices !!!

Sounds like you have a lot of patience Maddmoe. It always appeals to me when I can do something for a whole lot less than paying someone else. The video made it look like you can't hurt anything since it can peel off. This could be a project for my son to work on with me. Of course, then he'll want to drive my Gennie.

well let me clue you in on one very IMPORTANT THING make sure your hands are clean i mean very clean u dont want your finger prints under the 3M because once you lay in down you will be the first with a genesis with finger on it & every time you wash you car you'll wonder why you see your prints its because its under the 3M , i thought about letting my son help but not on my GENESIS maybe my 92 niss max or my wifes 04 toyota sienna but no way jose on my GENESIS

i have a friend who has his genesis done for $800 by a known installer in the bronx ny ( i wont mention the name of his shop) & i brought my kit for $250 & did it myself & know one notices it on my car except to say "whats that line going across your hood" then i explain to them that is the 3M sheet on my hood then they notice it so you go figure $550 for them to do it I DONT THINK SO !!!

Great tip about the fingerprints. I'll let you know when I decide to do this. You can cheer me on from a distance. I'll start with small pieces. This car is so nice, I want to keep it that way.

Maddmoe, I'm in Queens, just got white V8 Tech/Nav with all wing emblems. Seriously considering 3M clear bra similar to above. Going to go see a shop tomorrow. I'd like to get the best deal possible. Are you doing installs?

Whats up Rich & congrats on your 4.6 v8 & yes i do installs on the 3m, did u check out the website www.invisiblemask.com ...? you will save yourself alot of money getting the kit yourself but check around if you are not satisfied with the prices let me know & i will let you know my labor fee & if you like you can come see my genesis 4.6 that i did im located in Mt Vernon ny , near city island in the bx
