If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I’ve been trying to figure out since I got my G70 last November, how to install a 3rd brake light flasher? These are readily available on Amazon for under $10. If you have ever been rear ended by an ass hole who uses you to stop by, it’s not much fun. That is how my G37S got totaled. I have a flasher on my Miata, but it was much easier to install since the brake light wires are easily accessible. The G70, being the 3rd brake light is on the roof and covered by the headliner presents challenges unless you want to pull the headliner down, which I did not. I had originally pulled both trunk interior panels off but lacking a wiring diagram still left me stumped. Trunk panel removal is not needed. I’ve always wanted a nice borescope with a small lens's that can get into spark plug holes and intake manifolds so I bought one. I was able to snake it between the roof and headliner to find the brake light wires, colors and routing. I removed back seat bottom and passenger side fixed back seat pillar cushion. 5 minutes to get those out so wiring coming down passenger side quarter panel area are now exposed. The pink and black wires are what is needed to splice into. Those worried about warranty coverage or not comfortable splicing and soldering wires may not want to tackle this. I spliced in the GS100 flasher module with no issues. Heat shrinked wires, re-tape the wire bundle and zip tied everything in place. Pictures pretty much tell the installation story. The photo with the wire nuts in place was for temporary testing purposes only. Several here have been helpful in checking FSM and providing wire routing help so to those, thank you. Once I determined wire color and location this was an easy job. Probably an hour plus job if I was to do it over again. I spent that much time just reassembling my trunk interior panels. Hopefully the brake light flasher will lesson the chance someone runs up my butt again. Anyone who wants to install their own hopefully this post may help.

I was out of town and staying at an inn which also hosted several high end Harley owner vacationers enjoying the western North Carolina mountain roads from their Wisconsin and Minnesota homes. I noticed that two of them had brake lights that strobed. The harder they applied the brake handle the faster the rear brake light strobed. It was absolutely attention getting. I have not seen this feature on other motorcycles before or since. One of them said it was a dealer installed option.
(This was for a Tail of the Dragon run in Autumn and there was an amazing amount of high expense metal on the road. I had a Miata which is my 4 wheel motor cycle;))

Great write up! I was looking for a wiring guide without having to pull my headliner and potentially break clips, and this is perfect!

I went with this module on my previous cars(Amazon.com: Vehicle Brake Light Flasher Module. Safety Flash Light Alert. Universal. For Motorcycles and Cars.: Automotive)
Its great for the customizability. I just want a simple four strobe flash.
I used a more fancy one when I rode Harley’s that pulsed my brake light and did a wig-wag with the blinkers. Was a good attention getter. Good luck wiring yours in. I spent a good while monkeying and trying different approaches to finding the right wires without pulling the headliner or much interior panels off. You won’t have clips to screw with so should be good. I broke several on the trunk panels while fishing around.

The majority of the Harley Flashers are plug & play and manufactured by Custom Dynamics a LED company based in the Carolina's. I know the owner, Dave and I would think if someone were interested enough to give them a call and explain what they want that they already manufacturer something that would fit the bill. Good thing about CD stuff is it is OE quality, best in field warranty and well thought out. No problem with overheating. The unit on my HD has a DIP switch that lets you choose which pattern of flashes you want. I have it set to all possible patterns, It never stops and is major noticeable.

Thanks for the rundown on the wiring location. I picked up one from amazon for $6.99

It took about 20 min for me to install. Rear rear Seat does not have to come completely out I just took the one bolt at the back of the rear seat cushion which you have to access through the seat bottom and the seat back at the division then lifted the seat up pulled it out of the way to get the side bolster off.

Originally I was just going to pull the passenger side door sill trim off you can access the wiring harness through there but there’s four different pink wires and three different black ones so it’s just easier to follow your lead.

Update.

The cheaper Amazon one didn’t work properly returned it and got the $4.99 one from superbrightLED.com which was about $10 with shipping only has two input wires black and red and one red output wire. It works perfect.
