4 Years and Genesis has finally ruined my car.

I posted this on Reddit trying to see if anyone else had issues.

Took the car in first the charger pipe recall. They said oh make sure it's low on gas as it needs to be drained first to do the work.

Parked in service with a mile left.

During this recall work I was having the following.
1) Recall
2) AC broke
3) 4th round of window trim
4) 13th plus time with the rattling screen.

Took it Friday and even with their recall I had to rent a car. Sure they reimburse you buy common Genesis give a car.

Let the fun begin.

I get a text Monday it's finished.

I call in and ask if they put gas in the car? She says no they didn't have to drain it. I said I would have bought gas instead of coasting in Friday buy she doesn't remember saying it. What a huge lie. She told me adn when I dropped it off I was telling everyone how close it was.

So it becomes a circus as my car is showing bars or 5 miles.

So I ask about the screen and she says well the tech had the dash apart but couldn't recreate it so when I got there I said how can he recreate it when there's no gas to drive around.

She says well I saw him driving around lol that is not equivalent to driving in the street. Surely a lie.

She took the car and put like $10 so I can get to a station. Nobody wanted to try to drive it and get stuck and they had zero gas anywhere at the dealer nor would they drain a gallon from any car.

When I got in the car finally and started it, right away it sounded different and the check engine light was on and I showed a person in service but I couldn't wait. I was already late due to the whole gas BS.

Then on the way home I heard a noise so when I got to my kids car line I looked.

The new window trim was gone lol it flew off of the passenger rear and was coming off the drivers rear. I had to push it back down. So that trim is laying on a toll road somewhere LOL

They had to remove dash to fix the AC so had to removed my carbon fiber and now there's glue sticking out and it's crooked and loose. The Genesis guy hadling other issues(at cooporate) was like well it is aftermartket and I cut him off and said I don't care, it was $1500 and mine and you do not treat my car like that, period.

I kept smelling coolant so when I got to my house I popped the hood and there was white coolant stains everywhere. All on my Carbon Fiber strut bars and red anodized parts and other black parts like an explosion.

I went to turn on my Dynamic DIode underglow. I have 2 separate bluetooth controllers so I can have the underglow and the Lit Kit/Intercooler/rear adro 2 different colors. So only one was showing up which can occasionally happen but I looked and someone switched it off by the switch.

Lastly the car does not drive the same at all. I've driven it 4 years and immediately I could tell.

It quickly goes through the gears. So in Sport Mode I would take off quickly but nothing like florring it and shifts were maybe 5 seconds but now it is like 2 seconds and gets to 4th gear so fast. It is like ECO.

I mean WTH could they have touched to drastically change the shifting and gears. This morning when I started it, there was literally no cold start period. I was actually waiting to see how it sounded since I started hearing a slight vibration in my exhaust tip. It was as if the car has warmed up and I was like wth is going on.

Probably everyone here knows their car like the back of their hand. I mean, I know every sound, or every square inch of it and I have been driving it for 4 years.

The car IS NOT RIGHT and I am completely out of ideas what they could have done. It is like it was reprogrammed.

The can was slightly jumpy once but is pretty smooth but imagine taking off and it is like bleh. Yes if I nail the gad it goes but the peddle has to go down much futher than before and it shifts so fast it is just crazy.


Corporate knows and said they were calling immediately but what a nightmare. I still cannot believe the technician LOL what a schmuck. Oh I forgot, when I popped the hood the valve cover for the AC was just laying there LOLOLO never put it back on the low pressuree valve of the AC.

I only have these 3 pictures. I heard the trim fly off but thought it was road debris LOL it sounded like an aluminum pan waving and I am like what was that meanwhile it could have cause a death but I know those other cars were probably like LOLOLOLOLOL POS Genesis.

The last thing is the screen rattle. They had this car 4 times minimum the first year I owned it and many each year after but never mention Lemon Law or buy backs.

It has made me so angry at times I was close to punch it into pieces.

So he has a case opened for it and said he does the approval but not sure if he meant Genesis because seems like a huge costly thing. I told him the screen was replaced as well and yet it still rattled the exact same. I see no reason they can deny the buy back.

I am sure someone here will say no way but he said it is possible and they need to see how many times they had it and they had it a lot.

I told him if they buy it back I need to know the rules of what I can removed because they are high as it gets if they think I am leaving my rims, intake, ADRO and may other parts. My break pads were over $600 and my R1 Rotors were almost $500.

I will have to give up a few things like my ARK secondary pipe and likely the CF parts in my bumper but all that is about $1500 to replace and I would like look for a 2001 low mileage because I like the body style better or a Silverado LOL

I would think after 4 years the buy back with interest and all I paid would be enough to just buy a car and own it.

Either way that is secondary to getting my car running correctly but FFS who leaves a car like this and they did not wash it because they cannot put it though theor machine which I agree, no machines but wash the car or clean the engine bay. The technician is a huge A Hole probably hates Genesis.

After posting I see it looks like my anodized bolts are scratched up I am gonna make them buy new ones that bolt should not even be treated that way. Man I would like to meet this moron tech. I will go look now and the others OMG I am pissed off now til I see.

Lol yeah me too but yeah so the guy and I'm guessing he didn't realize these are anodized and not cheap cranked this one and it's ruined.

Some may not think so but I got them so they were black not scratched.

I had issues there but different ones.

So tonight I really got a chance to test the car more.

Anyone that drives one has passed traffic. It's typically you punch it and it goes and the rpms stay high and eventually drop.

Now when I punched it there's a delay and it goes but the moment I let off it shifts through the gears and literally slows itself.

That's is NOT normal.

Sucks that so much seems to have changed and i can’t believe that piece of trim came off! I’m guessing some of your issues are from some form of a factory reset. The seat bolsters moving when selecting sport mode should just be a setting change within the gauge cluster.

I do not know since it was like that since I bought the car years ago. Iwas not aware you could even shut that off from Sport mode however I never knew or did so it came back now workings.

I should list all the issues I have had with the dealers LOL

I had what was a straight line cut going a few directions like they cut a box on my car, the scratches the rear bumper, smashed a 20" rim to name a few. Gave it back with bird shit all over it lol

4 years and never fixed the noisy screen.

I am hoping the guy handling the case just approved the buy back for the screen and I swear I am taking everything off of it including the badges I spent $300 having made, and I am getting junk yard rotors and putting them on with junk yard pads if its a you pull it place.

I will take the bumper off and cut my carbon fiber parts out too if needed. They ruined the bumper putting new headlights but denied it.

Maybe they re-set the ECM and other trans. programming. The thought is that the car "learns" how you drive and will become better overtime.

So maybe you need a few weeks of a heavy right foot in Sport....

Well after a few weeks they decide to send me a letter and deny the cars a lemon.

Even though they tried 10 times in the first 2 years to stop my screen rattling. Still rattled occasionally. 4 years now.

Car was in for the recall and AC and because I mentioned the screen and asked does it qualify for lemon law they now refuse to reimburse my $350 rental unless I sign the paper saying I give up on the lemon law but they say they do not find it qualified.

He says it's goodwill the reimbursement.

I said uh goodwill is something you do.

Telling me only if I sign the paper is more like blackmail.

I don't understand that if legally it doesn't fall under the buy back law why is the "goodwill" tied to me signing the release paper?

The dealer said they replaced the screen and on the way home it started making the identical sound.

I am serious when I say I don't think they recorded everything they did as to avoid documentation for the reason to avoid buy back.

Sounds crazy but is it really.

I've moved a few times and likely tossed some papers away thinking eh it's just the screen. I never even considered this coming to what it is now.

If I made a list of grievances toward the dealer which isn't even allowed to touch Gens anymore it would be long.

They destroyed a rim. Scratched the car 2 times. It was filthy and few times. They had it over the weekend without notice, once I picked it up and it had bird shit all over it.

Then this other place ruined my Carbon fiber how it sits, scratched my custom bolts, left coolant all over my engine bay, left the o2 sensor out making it drive erratically, tried to give it to me with .2 miles of gas. Sent me home with the check engine light on.

Almost same issues. 2019 G70. AC goes out every 10 months. Blower motor, front wiring assembly. Spark plugs. It just went out again 3 months ago. It is HOT. I have a child. I too, got the run around when contacting the local dealer when the "AC blower motor" recall letter came in 5 months ago.

Suddenly, 3 days ago, I get the "fuel pump" recall safety notice in the mail. Well, that part failed 10 months ago, and I paid $2.1k for that out of pocket.

Same thing with the screen issues but that's the least of my worries. The dealership is roughly an hour away. I've left several messages with the dealership and never got a call back when the blower motor recall was mailed. I had Tires Plus fix it (again), because they are nearby.

I, too, am fed up. The humidity and heat since the latest failing blower motor has wrecked the inside of the car, too. The car has 50k miles.

Oh, and Lane Assist / Auto Cruise broke as well (the same time blower motor failed a few weeks ago). Probably wiring harness related, again. I expect another letter 12 months from now regarding that one.
