5.0 Tuning Solution!

I'm in PA and we've gone down this road before.
They don't understand the complexity of cracking the ECU.
They just assume it's just like any other Hyundai ECU.

SFR was the first to Crack Hyundai ECU's in the states, you're completely wrong about SFR. He actually takes the ECU apart and does it old school pins it all out etc. Read the below article from the Diablo sport forums talking about SFR. Jay is the guru when it comes to these ECU's. If you're close why not go talk to the guy? I've heard nothing but good about SFR from day one. These ECU's are a lot like the Toyota ECUs used to be, people have tried to crack those for a long time, and finally Bullydog bit the bullet and cracked the Toyota ECUs and made a programmer. Unlike Toyota however this platform isn't nearly as popular. Lastly see the other link I posted of Jay actually pinning out a ECU for a Hyundai Genesis Coupe, back in the day.

I also have some great news about a possible tuning solution. Seoulful Racing in PA is also famous for cracking and tuning everything Hyundai pretty much. Spoke to them on YouTube of all places. They said they'd love to have someone let them use their Vehicle to make canned tunes as well. Just so we can get multiple tuning options for the platform. 84Fordman aren't you getting a supercharger made for the TAU 4.6/5.0 engine? Not trying to steal anyones thunder here, but Seoulful Racing is very known for tuning Hyundai's never heard of the other shop you mentioned. But, I will check them out as well. Curious to see how much a canned tuned with exhaust, and an intake will net us in HP. Below is the video I talked to them about tuning our Genesis Sedan's with the TAU 4.6/5.0 powerplants. They're located in PA, anyone live there? Their addy is (319 west town road suite M West Chester, PA. 19382). They will work with us to make a tuning solution happen if someone is close enough to volunteer their ride for a few hours.

SFR's customer service has been less than stellar in the Genesis Coupe community and Jay was originally tagged to crack the 4.6 ECU, but kind of like was already mentioned, he expected to be able to flash through the BDM or OBD ports, not have to plot out connections via a K-TAG, so we got the ECU back from him and over to BTR, who did end up providing 4.6 tunes.

That sucks! Is BTR working on a 5.0 Tune yet? Checked the site, the only have a tune for the 4.6 w/8speed so far. If so will it be a hand held tuning solution like the did for the Gen Coupe? That way we can flash our cars, and reflash to bring to the dealer if need be. Since you have a tune from BTR, how's the difference in performance? Any Track ET's yet? Sorry for all the questions, I know you may have posted all these answers up somewhere before I'm fairly new here. Thanks for the response.

The current tunes available for the sedans require you to take out your modified ECU and put the factory one back in when taking the car in for service. No flash available based on how the ECU is manufactured. Based on what I saw at the BTR tuning event last year.
