Hi,
I picked up my 2010 4.6 Cabernet Genesis on 10/15/2010, so today is my 5 month anniversary. This is my first Hyundai- most recently, I was driving a Avalon (which I really liked). Some observations:
Appearance/Styling- outstanding. I have received 2 comments from total strangers expressing a high opinion of my car. This never happened to me before, and I must say I felt pretty good.
Interior- very good. The cabin is certainly spacious, I find the seating comfortable, everything is laid out logically. The heated seats are outstanding( wish they were available in the rear)
Electronics- Sound system outstanding, nav very good. I don't use an Ipod, but have had no trouble using a pen drive to play music- I do wish the "shuffle" function could be set as a default, instead of constantly having to select it. Also,I'm now a lifetime convert to satellite radio.
Handling/tires- very good. Although I drove rear wheel drive cars in my younger days, the Genny is the first rear wheel drive vehicle I've had in quite some time. I was concerned about bad weather handling, but I can report that after a lousy New Jersey winter, my concerns were calmed. Frankly, I noticed no difference versus my front drive Avalon. The ESC feature did engage once this winter, and it felt pretty weird. There is alot of talk on this board regarding the OEM dunlop tires, but frankly they don't bother me at all. I'll change them out when worn.
Fuel/Mileage- good. I have used regular gas exclusively, and I'm averaging 22 MPG. This meets my expectations.
Complaints- I don 't like the placement of the Home Link controls on the rear view mirror. I don't like the operation of the driver front window when the engine is off ie, in my Avalon, I could open and close the drivers window once after the ignition was turned off. I would prefer a more prominent temperature display. Very minor points.
Overall- outstanding. I have had zero issues with the car since delivery. I expect ~150,000 miles from my vehicles, and will be interested in seeing how the Genny ages.
I've enjoyed following this board- keep up the good work Moderators!!
