  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

can someone clarify how many pot piston caliper the 8 cyl has vs the 6 cylinder.

8 cylinder is 4 piston I believe. not sure if there is any difference from the v6.

Both the V6 and V8 get 4 piston front, single piston rear.
The front ventilated disk is 13.6 inches on the V6 vs. 14.2 on the V8.
Rear disk is the same on both.

Ditto 2012. Brembo fronts, I believe, and floating caliper rears.

No Genesis sedan ever had Brembos from the factory. ;)

Is there a stopping distance difference between the V6 and V8?

the brakes are pretty good on the 5.0, sure seems a lot bigger than 4 piston calipers. the front calipers are huge.
