I've seen many postings concerning the shifting of the 8 speed, I've searched for this issue, haven't seen this problem or quirk. Generally speaking, I'm happy with the transmission.
If I accelerate hard, almost to detent, from a standing start or when moving slowly, the car takes off like expected, gets to around 80mph at about 5500/6000rpm real quickly and when I lift, not right off but considerable lift off the pedal, the transmission quickly hammers through a few gear changes and I can feel a brief chatter as though driving on a rumble strip. Then it settles down.
The car, a 3.8 Premium Genny was bought new in Sept/13. Have there been any transmission software updates since then regarding transmission operation or does a person just live with this. I'm coming up on 18,000 miles.
I'd like some input from the forum before I bring this up with the dealer. Is this a common problem?
