  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking to replace my 2012 3.8 in 2016. I really like the new Genesis. I am a little disappointed in the weight/same drive train/poor fuel economy/slower acceleration but I am still drawn to the value, interior, ride, price combo.

A few questions for those of you that have pulled the trigger:

1. HVAC: While not terrible the AC fan in my 2012 is pretty loud on the higher settings and the AC is a bit weak in hot Northeast weather. Has that changed in the 2015?

2. Has anyone made the Signature vs. Tech comparison? For me, the Signature has everything I want but the tech has the thigh extensions. Is there is significant difference in support/comfort in those seats versus the standard ventilated seats in the Signature? Do the seats have a bit more range of adjustment?

3. Are people finding the audio/tech a little less fussy? Mine sounds fine but it still freezes regularly and the phone does not connect maybe 10% of the time.

Thanks for your input.

1. I didn't notice any problem this summer with HVAC. No excessive noise or noticeable inefficiencies - set everything on auto and forget.

2. The seat extension may or may not be an asset for you, but I'd bet big money that the upgraded seat it comes on will be one of the finest you've ever had. It's close to perfect and definitely the best I've ever had.

3. It's been a while since I had my 2010 Tech, but I've had NONE of the bugs in my 2g Ultimate that were common in my 2010.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

Only question I can answers is the AC is not in the same league at all on the 2015. The 2015 will freeze you out in no time compared to the adequately cooled with time of the gen1. Very big improvement IMHO. The weak AC was among the many discussed topics on the Gen 1 and common to all. Never saw anybody say it was great.

Apart from blowing colder air, the entire system seems to do so much more quickly not to mention evenly throughout the entire car. The "system" in general is much improved, not just the AC.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
2. The Tech seat also has a width adjustment. I am not very "wide-bodied" and I did not fill the width of my 2011 Genny seat. I love the new one.

I don't think that the new seat adjusts backwards as far as the previous one, though. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

As for the fuel economy, I have a 5.0 and get 19.8 mpg in ECO mode. Not bad for a car with this much power. The acceleration is truly amazing. The value of this car with all the bells & whistles that comes with it is worth the extra money for the extras you get.

1). AC is cold. Best AC I have had since an old Ford Ranger that would freeze your buns off.

2). The seat extension is a great option. Specially on long drives. One thing that I think is not on the Signature package (I don't know as I have the 5.0 Ultimate) is the HUD (heads-up display). This feature alone is worth the extra upgrade.

3). I have had zero issues with mine. The sound is superior to anything I have ever had.

I am 6'1" and with the seat all the way back, I can straighten out my legs so it does go back far enough for me. Not sure how it compares to the old generation Genny.

This is my first Genesis.

AC here in Florida is fine, zero problems or issues.

Try the seat yourself, no one can tell you how it will work for you.

Audio/tech is very easy to use, touch screen, buttons and controller for the audio, buttons on steering wheel, lots of choices.

As someone living in Texas with a black vehicle with black interior, I will say the 2015 Genesis cools down very quickly, even in temps over 100. It's also nice to have BlueLink to remote start your car anywhere you are and cool it down for you before even getting in!

Very strong AC unit with no complaints. Add cooled seats and it gets downright chilly. The heater proved itself today in minus 9C weather. Nice and toasty in under a minute.

16 way adjustable seating on the Ultimate. No complaints.

The sound system and tech are simple to use.

Ditto on the Auto Brake feature. I like the fact that it gives you a warning before it kicks in to give you the ability to apply the brakes before it does.

Hi, I know I have to go sit in a Genesis myself. However just curious if you ever sat in a car with more driver legroom or headroom? I am 6'7" so a big part of my purchase decision is can I fit. :o

I'm 6'4" and fit with plenty of room to spare. The driver / passenger seat can be adjusted way down. Pretty confident you will feel comfortable in a Genesis.

I went for the Signature. I haggled for an identical car with the Tech but they would not come close to my budget and my wife would not let me leave without the car. I liked the Tech package with the collision and active safety features. At 6'2" (leggy) I also liked the seat extension but none of those things nor the other little features motivated me to go well over my "before I go to the dealer" budget. I can say that if it is in your budget, the Tech is a steal but I personally felt the extra money was better spent on our ongoing house renovations (and my wife agreed which is saying something).

We went to the Fort Lauderdale Auto Show and sat in about 50+ cars. The only one that came close to this car was the K900. We even sat in a Jag and this car is more comfortable.

Thanks for saving me a bunch of time and bruised knees!
