A Note about Continental Tires

Continental offers a limited 1 year road hazard warranty on their tires, even if you didn't buy a road hazard warranty from your dealer. So long as your tires are less than a year old, if you have have less than 2/32 tread life used, you can return them to Continental (or your dealer) for a credit.

I found this out the hard way; I installed a set of Extreme Contact DWS back in May (that I ordered from Tire Rack), and last week a thumb sized hunk of metal somehow managed to make its way to my tire, near the sidewall (which means it can't be patched).

I ordered a new tire from Tire Rack, while getting a pre-paid shipping tag from them for the warrantied tire. Tire Rack has great customer service, btw. In any case, just wanted to let others know about this.
