A Taste of Hot August Nights (50+ Classic Car Pics)

For those of you who haven't heard of it, Hot August Nights is a classic car festival held the first week of August every year in Reno, NV. It's a celebration of American cars and music of the 50's and 60's, although you'll find cars of earlier vintage and some imports as well. Now in it's 22nd year, it attracts over 800k people to our area, which is huge considering Reno's population (approx. 210k proper/450k metro). People come from all over the U.S. (primarily the West coast) to celebrate and show off their cars. Almost anywhere you go in the city you'll find an event with tons of cars on display.

You do realize Vegas is 400+ miles away, right? Reno is in Northern Nevada near Lake Tahoe.

Oh okay, cool! I figured as much since you seem well-educated, but you never know......I cannot count the number of times I've had people assume Reno is near Vegas.

If/when you do come to town I highly recommend the Peppermill (their newly renovated suites are very nice) or the Grand Sierra Resort.
