  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've been reading these post as a guest for a couple weeks now and I think I am ready to purchase a 2009 Genesis 3.8.

What I wanted to ask was if I'm getting a good deal or not.

2009 Hyundai Genesis 3.8
Platinum / Black
Tech Package
Miles: 0

Price: $34,600

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

That is a fantastic price, assuming you are talking about the real final price minus taxes and license fees. Be careful of a fistful of add-ons that will get the out the door price above $40K. We paid $30,500 for our premium plus. $32,500 out the door (w/taxes, license...etc.) $4k is pretty good for the tech package.

$34,600 is the final price for the 2009 Genesis 3.8 V6 with Tech Package.
Taxes, Title, Tags and Doc fees will be extra.

Thats a good price.

Just got a call back from another dealer.

Here's the scoop...

2009 Genesis 3.8 V6
Technology Package
White / Cashmere
Miles: 8,000
This car was used by the dealer as a loaner while an owner's car was serviced.
Price: $32,400

Which would you go for? You can see my original vehicle listing with zero miles in my first post.

Thanks.

go for the first. the point of a new is the new part.. For 8k miles I would want about 4.5K off the price. 56 cents a mile...

good luck

Agreed. That vehicle has a full year of depreciation (not counting the initial, drive-off-the-lot amount), and that's assuming it hasn't been abused as a loaner.

Ditto. While that is a good price for a V8 tech, it is a used car...forget the magic "demo" word. A one year old car with 8000 miles is used. I'm not a big fan of buying demos or rentals. The people that drive them don't own them and therefore don't feel the responsible to take care of them. Our dealer tried to sell us a demo. It had 3000 miles on it. When we asked some more questions we found out it had been driven to a press show. Supposedly all the miles were to and from the show but I suspect that some journalists took a spin or two in it...and you know they don't baby the cars they try out.
