  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good morning all,
I just replaced the FAM in my 12 Genesis Sedan 3.8. The hazard lights were turning on intermittently. The horn would also honk intermittently, mostly at night thus making the neighbors happy. The new FAM seemed to have worked but 48 hours later the hazards are back on and kills the battery unless I unhook the battery.

In addition now my ABS and ESC dash lights are on and throwing a C2402 code. This showed up before changing out the FAM.

Any ideas if these issues are related? And any ideas for the constant flashing hazards.

The dealer doesn’t want to deal with it.

Drive in and see the SERVICE MANAGER and, or, the GENERAL MANAGER. If that doesn’t help, see another dealer.

What’s a FAM?

Front Area Module.

That’s not an option.

None of my suggestions are an option????
Seeing the service manager. I’ve already seen the service manager. I live in a small town and nearest dealer is 47 miles away. I have to get someone to follow me and drive me back. Dealer said they could not get symptom to replicate.

Have you checked your battery contacts and the condition of the battery itself?

No. It’s going to the shop tomorrow. I’ll keep you posted.

I've read here in the forums about weak batteries and loose contacts on the battery causing all sorts of electrical gremlins. Hope it's simple fix for you.
