  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

we just finished up a 1500 mile trip, in which i have noticed some things that i hadn't before, even after 9000 miles and 9 months of owner ship.

with the AC on (not in auto mode) it would cycle the outside air/recycle feature at regular intervals. you would notice a change in smell and humidty every 2 -5 minutes or so. anyone have a clue as to why it would do that? i kinda liked the recycle mode as it was noticable cooler/less humid. as long as the dogs and wife didn't fart it was the way to go:D

also late in the trip it was around 86 degrees out, rather humid and a rain storm passed. the air temp dropped a little bit and the windows fogged up. i put on the fwd defroster in both dual and independant (?) modes and had a heck of a time getting the passenger side to clear up? any one else experience this? to get it to clear up i had the raise the fan to the max output and increase the temp by about 4 degrees....

That outside air/Recycle thing is strange on these cars, and I really have not fugured it out completly. At the moment, (and I don't know how I did it <grin>) mine is set to Auto mode, but the recycle comes on and goes off, just like yours. It is working as if I had the Circle A button on, but that button is not on. Don't know why, but I'll leave it like that. At one time, if I hit the Recycle button, the Auto would go off and Recycle would stay on. These things have a mind of their own. I've only used the de-fogger/de-froster once, so I can't be much of a help to you.

Lastly, Where in Maine are you from? I lived "DownEast" many years ago, near Sullivan and Gouldsboro. My son was born in Ellsworth. Good people!

I had the same thing happening to me driving in a rain storm. The drivers side wouldn't clear up as good as the passenger and it wasn't clearing the fog very well. I had to take it off DUAL and raise the temp a couple of degrees, then it worked like a charm.

that is what i did as well, and it did work. however, the cabin temp went up to were it was starting to get uncomfortable.

The only time I've ever seen the recycle go "on and off" was when I had the "a-circle" (clean air filter) button pushed in. I use the AUTO mode very little and to date have had no problems.

Having the same issues. However, no matter how I high I increase the temp-- the defroster still fails to illuminate the condensation on the outer windshield.

I've tried it with the recycle and the intake mode non of them seem to work. a fix or a solution would be most appreciated .
