I have a 2015 Genesis sedan with the 3.8.
I bought the car at an auction and on way home the tranny started slipping. Had dealer diagnose it and it was a bad tranny solenoid. I had a friend replace them all since the transmission was opened up. A few days later I filled up the transmission fluid and it wouldn't shift at all. I pushed the interlock button and it moved down to neutral but not drive. I guess I pushed the lever a bit too hard because I broke a piece off of the shift assembly. A small plastic tab. The tab was what held the lever section to the section that actually pulls and pushes the cable. I used some zip ties to hold them together and it moved perfectly. I tried to shift it and again, everything except drive. I reopened the transmission and saw he had forgotten to put the tab on the inner part of the linkage that moves the actuator that shifts gears. I unbolted the housing around the actuator and moved the linkage into place and then reattached everything and refilled the tranny fluid. I forgot to tighten the linkage pivot bolt on the outside. So I got out and tightened it. Got back in and shifted it out of park. I could get to reverse, neutral, and drive. But not back into park. So I tried to just drive it and use neutral as park and put the ebrake on. But it won't shut off. The engine will. But the button just cycles between on and acc. Won't turn off. It doesn't turn off after time passes either. I get a warning that acc without car running may kill the battery. I can turn the display off with the display button, but acc stays on. If I push the button, it cycles between acc and on. Shouldn't it only be able cycles off and acc without the brake pressed? I don't know what to do now. It is going to drain my battery. One time I pressed the interlock button and then tried to turn it off, it shut off. I used the car again and now it won't shut off again. Even if I push the button.
Anyone ever figure out what this is?
Anyone know why I can't get to park now?
