  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

so my wife got into an accident today. The back bumper will need to be replaced. The back panel on the passenger will need to be repaired. She also received a ticket. my question is, would it be wise just to pay the ticket or get a lawyer to get it from failing to yield to a non moving violation? Trying to keep the insurance from going up too much.

Doubt the infraction will matter as much as the $3500+ repair- plus the other guy.

Why is this in the engine tech forum?

I am an insurance agent in Florida... my advise: fighting the ticket and having it removed will not do you much good since the insurance companies will still see an at fault accident on your record on that date. Insurance compaines pull what is caleld a "clue report" which will tell all insurance companies the amount that was paid for the accident. Most insurers will charge you for an at fault accident wether you have a ticket to go along with it or not based on the amount paid. (some small amounts may be overlooked depending on insurer)
